Avastin
I found this site purely by accident when I asked if there was any link between
Avastin
and arthritis or rheumatism. I have been treated for ovarian cancer since October 2017, and follow up treatment of
Avastin
since June 2018.

Folfiri and avastin chemotherapy
Beginning of March this year she went on another regime of chemotherapy, folfiri and
avastin
, 12 sessions over a 6 month period. She has a 3 hour period at the clinic IV through a portacath in her chest then she comes home with a pump and bottle which administers chemo for a period of 48 hours.

3rd Time Lucky!
The plan is to do Gem/carbo/
Avastin
again with naparabib (spelling) if the chemo works, so at least there is a plan. I’m trying to push the devastation I feel to one side and just focus on the plan.

Elevated ca125 levels/ possible liver problems?
Since that time I had my
avastin
infusion and apparently my ca125 levels jumped almost 90 points in less than three weeks time. (In the past five treatments they had been dropping dramatically from to 88 to 98 being the last ca125 level.).

UNEXPLAINED WEIGHT GAIN
I'm still having
Avastin
every three weeks. I'm on prednisolone now 5mg. I'm a vegetarian and my diet is largely healthy. For months I've had upper abdominal pain and bloating. I had ovarian cancer last year, chemo, surgery then more chemo. Saw a doctor who thinks I have an enlarged liver.

Any advice on ascitis?
As she became allergic to Carbo Taxol. she was administered Gemzar, which didn't help and is now on
Avastin
. Her CA125 were pretty high and seem to be going down slowly but her ascitis doesn't seem to get any better. Does anyone here have experience with ascitis and its treatment?

Return to chemo
So, after only 4 months since the last chemo (cisplatin and gemcitabine) and on
Avastin
, i am back on chemo. It’s cisplatin and caelyx this time. Ca125 at 165, from 20 after finishing the chemo in January, and pet scan confirming bad news in the pelvic region.

Silicone floater after Avastin Injection
I had an
Avastin
Injection in my left eye for WMD February 2019. Since the injection, I am seeing a circular floater that has a black ring around a white, shiny center. It floats around my vision in bright light inside and outside. It is very annoying when looking at something white.

Steroids and Weight Gain
Now on
Avastin
, have polymyalgia rheumatica which is excrutiating and osteoporosis. I've been on prednisolone for months, variable dose, but have gained almost 3 stone since I started taking them earlier this year. I must come off these steroids.

Obstruction / blocked bowel - no surgery. Any advice - PLEASE
She finished chemo in September and has been on
avastin
since then. Please does anyone have any advice at all?? Surely there’s more chemo or drugs. We have been asking since Feb for another scan but but they said they weren’t concerned and now it seems the disease has spread very quickly.

Bevacizumab (Avastin) availability in Wales - your comments needed
Hello All We've been contacted by All Wales Therapeutics and Toxicology Centre (AWTTC), who are involved in considering treatment availability in Wales. They are currently involved in the process of reviewing bevacizumab for advanced epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer.

Help needed with NZ petition for funding of Avastin and Lynparza for Ovarian cancer
I know personally that
Avastin
costs circa $5k per month, and that is just for the drug itself. Not sure about Lynparza, but if Olaparib is anything to go by ($10k per month), then it will be very expensive.

Roller Coaster
I finished
Avastin
at end of October 2018 which kept the beast at bay. I was due to start Carboplatin and Caelyx in March but before that hospitalised for chest infection and then replacement of ureter stent and continuing devastating fatigue.

Blood while passing srool
Is it side effects of
avastin
or irinotecan. What should I do? I have informed my oncologist, going to see him today. But I am worried. It happened during
avastin
, now dropped
avastin
but what may be the reason? God knows.

Avastin no disease progression
I am OC stage 4 inoperable and have been on
Avastin
since January my 3 month scan results from my consultant yesterday shows no progression of the disease so the
Avastin
is doing its job stopping the cancer forming new blood vessels. I hope it carries on doing this.

Long term avastin...voice gone??
She’s really depressed not being able to talk and don’t see how she would cope with
avastin
being the cause..she won’t want to stop
avastin
as it’s working for the cancer but I know she will have no quality of life not being able to talk.

Long term treatment for Macular degenerative disease
I tried different type of injections ... finally got back to the cheap
Avastin
product ... and the good news is that my eye respond well to it and is improving from one month treatment to two months. When the pain gets to bad I use just a bit of codeine to get me going to next injection.
