I'm on a waiting list for pace and ablate, I've got the pacemaker just waiting for the AV node ablation. I received a text from the hospital trust and initially thought it was an appointment, unfortunately it was just for me to confirm that I still require the ablation. tbh I was really disappointed as I really want to reduce the drugs I'm on. Am I being optimistic thinking this means I'm getting near to the top of the list? Any experience of this, please?

Nothing wrong with optimism but avoid false hope. If I were you, I would phone and ask the question, how close are you. Whatever the news, at least you will know and can rest more easily (it's what I did, and it all came to pass in reasonable time).
That is strange as AV node ablation usually follows automatically and quite soon after pacemaker. Occasionally people find the pacemaker improves their quality of life so much that they put off the AV node ablation but I think that’s rare. I would phone to ask what’s going on!
Ah, but still good to confirm.
