Carvedilol and side effects

Following an upgrade to my pacemaker,I was given new medication - carvedilol and amiodarone.

Has anyone suffered with dizziness

And off balance problems. I had a similar problem with bisoprolil until was stopped after av node ablation

Love to hear if anyone has suffered terrible side effects with these medications

I had one of the rarer side effects on Bisoprolol, GP switched me to Carvedilol and no issues at all.

I was on Amiodarone for a while after surgery and I had very bad tremors as a side effect, no dizziness though.

Yes Taichid. I have. Amioderone i can never have again. I flat lined on it in an ambulance. Not nice. Im on metoprolol at the mo and am getting 3or 4 thumps every hoir. Im on a 24hr halter monitor right now. Im in nz so not gettinvg much sleepColin

I had Amiodarone for 12 months. Ask your Cardiologist why you need it. It can cause serious side effects - sometimes the risks out weigh the benefits. You must have regular blood tests whilst taking this medication plus stay out of direct sun light. If you can avoid taking it, then my advice is avoid it. Note NHS recommend to prescribe no more than 12-18 months max.
