AV Node ablation and pacemaker for AF

Hello Everybody. I may need to have AV node ablation and pacemaker for my AF as it seriously affects my exercise tolerance. I would like to know how it feels like to be permanently paced. What is the heartbeat like? I would really appreciate hearing the experience of people who have already had this treatment

Hi I had mine done around 15 yrs ago due to arrhythmias coming out of it, in the end they decided to do pace and ablate. I still have arrhythmias, but as they said then, if they have to ablate they don’t have to worry about accidentally ablating it.

I don’t feel much, even certain arrhythmia. Usually the clinic tells me what’s going on when I visit once a year. They do a remote check once a year but they’ve never contacted me saying anything is wrong. They usually speak to my cardiologist who then tells me when I see them.

I also have AF, but was only diagnosed 6 yrs ago after my device was upgraded with a defibrillator. By the way I have a CRT-D i originally had CRT-P
