Can anyone help interpret my ECHO please?
This is my ECHO report. It was followed by a letter from cardiology to the GP saying that the findings are consistent with HFpEF and that treatment should start with diuretics. However, the GP (trainee) who rang to give me the results said that I was at high risk of heart failure and should go back if

Is AF life threatening or not?
When l was diagnosed with AF., six years ago, my Cardiologist, at that time, told me that AF was not life threatening. I have always used this information as a coping mechanism when l have an episode. It keeps me calm and lessens the severity of the symptoms. I have, on occasions, passed this information

Cognitive skills
I had open heart surgery over four months ago. Straight after the surgery I felt fine and could hold a conversation with people. The week after (once home) I felt I was present in the room but struggled to communicate. I would have the conversation mapped out in my head along with what I wanted to

Worried about brother still in hospital after heart surgery
Hello, I am posting because my brother is in hospital after a heart bypass and I am worried. He has a very sharp brain but seems to be finding it hard to express himself. He was due home this weekend but has a cough and fluid on the lung plus a partially deflated lung. He was on Amiodarone medication

Which medicine is messing with my thyroid med uptake
Might anyone be able to suggest which of my other meds has affected my thyroid med uptake (100mcg thyroxine and 2x5mcg t3)? I was prescribed digoxin, furosemide and bisoprolol after having open heart surgery 3 mths ago to resolve some anatomical defects. Uptil that point thyroid levels were stable

AFIB caused heart failure?
Hello, my 76 year old mom was hospitalized a month ago after feeling very sick and ended up having to be intubated in the ICU for a day because her lungs were full of fluid - she had heart failure with an EF of 15%. She has had afib for over 17 years and had an ablation done when she was first diagnosed
