30 Day Cardiac Monitor
I just got a 30 day event monitor put on today, and was just wondering anyone’s experience with it. What were your outcomes? What did it find. I had 24 hr holter monitor in the past, but of course nothing really happened to record anything, besides tachycardia. I also had a echocardiogram today. I was

Slow Afib
Anyone have any experience of this not sure if it exists even. Reason I'm asking is I'm noticing my pulse rate is fluctuating between 40 BPM and 75 BPM. When I check my Kardiamobile device it says possible afib even though the pulse rate is showing at around 40 BPM. How do I know if its bradycardia or

High Heart Rate!! What should I do?
Hi all for the past two days my HR reading have been high 120 when just sitting down but it goes higher if I get up and move around. Last night I had to take my dog out which was a bit of a challenge, could hardly walk, restricted breathing due to tightness in chest and distorted vision in left eye.

When Is Ablation Necessary?
I am scheduled for a Coronary CT scan tomorrow to assess the condition of my heart ahead of scheduling me for my first Cryo Ablation. All of my previous heart scans show no structural or functional issues. My question is: Since I haven't had a Afib episode for several months, have dropped 55 pounds,

Query over AF symptoms
Hi, just joined and while waiting to see GPs etc I was wondering if anyone can help. I get, what feels like to me, irregular heart rhythms but only very occasionally, like maybe 1 a month. It seems to come out of the blue and often in the evening, sometimes after exercise (fell running), sometimes not

Fourth time a char?
Quick history- cardioversion to stop first event, cryoballoon ablation to stop subsequent ones. It lasted 4 years but with Afib episodes sporadically [despite beta blocker, dronedarone, Amiodarone (not all at the same time!)]. Two more rf ablations, three more cardioversions. No longer in Afib but in

AV Node Ablation and Pacemaker
Hi Everyone, I had an AV Node Ablation and Pacemaker implanted all on the same day last Thursday 1/20/22. I was in a situation where I was having many different heart rhythms, svt, atypical aflutter and afib. I have had two MAZE procedures which worked for a while but unfortunately staying in sinus

Best treatment for sudden ectopics?
Hello, fellow AF/ectopics sojourners! I'm in Kentucky, new to HealthUnlocked. Had occasional vagally-mediated AF episodes for 10 yrs, but since covid started 2 yrs ago, I think stress/anxiety upped my episodes to weekly, and recently, every 3 days. I just started daily 12.5 mg metoprolol (2 days

Is there a common cause of afib and aura?
I have for years wondered if there is a common electrophysiological cause of atrial fibrillation and migraine aura without headache. I understand that there is a strong co-incidence of the two conditions but it seems to me that there must be a common root cause of both. Any thoughts or experiences with

Started having afib about 14 years ago. After a couple of cardioversions went in for ablation . Ended up having a second . for a very long time I would go in and out without any intervention. Recently started having episodes and had to be cardioverted, but after a few days went back into afib. My Dr

AFIB and Anxiety relief
I was diagnosed with Afib 3 years ago literally to the day and have found over the last few months that episodes have become more regular but sinus rhythmm is restored by using bisoprolol 2. The time it takes to restore NSR is directly correlated to my anxiety levels. . I used to take citalopram to

An update on this pain-in-the-bum condition
So 2018 Flutter, ablation fixed it but triggered fibrillation. Cardioversion fixed that for about 10 months then Flecainide from September 2019 until cryo-ablation in October 2021. Stopped the post abalation meds ten days ago. Sinus fine and ecg fine last week when my cardiologist saw me. I have developed

When should I go to A&E
I have been in PAF on and off for some years but the last 12 months I go a lot longer in AF and do not revert back without a Cardioversion. I have had a third ablation 5 weeks ago but for the last 3 1/2 weeks I have been back in AF. I am on list for cardioversion again and need to talk through my options

I need advice about AFIB and travels
Hello everyone, It's been a while since my last post. I'm planning to go on holiday to Costa Rica next March but I'm not very confident because the trouble with fibrillation is that you don't know when it's coming on. My attacks are usually 8 months apart and next March it will be 8 months since my

Is this AFib?
Is this AFib? Background: 67 year old white male never smoked, never used drugs, reasonable weight, active and exercise routinely. Only medication is lowest dose of Rosuvastatin (Crestor) The only bad thing is I am a heavy caffeine drinker. (Coke) I've read the symptoms, and I do not have shortness

Is there a relationship between AFib and high blood pressure
When in AFib can it raise your blood pressure or can high blood pressure trigger AFib. In April/May last year I was I told I had possible AFib after starting palpitations which didn't abate and subsequent 24hr ECG and Echocardigram . Also had a raise BNP. I was perscribed bisoprol by my GP but it

NSVT or atrial flutter?
Do PVCs feel different to PACs? I'm getting short runs of ectopic beats (often 4 in a row), which I think might be NSVT. I'm used to experiencing AF, which feels light and chaotic compared to sinus rhythm, but these recent short runs feel more forceful than AF, and also feel regular - could they be ventricular

AFIB BP STRUGGLERS
All, I have never taken this drug but I have taken Amiodorone before. And you're right. It is awful so my dr took me off it. I am taking Propafenone now. I was to take 3 150mg per day. I did and felt horrible. So I started reducing it myself and I have found that 1 pill split into 2 does works
