Pacemaker and Flecainide

Started having afib about 14 years ago. After a couple of cardioversions went in for ablation . Ended up having a second . for a very long time I would go in and out without any intervention. Recently started having episodes and had to be cardioverted, but after a few days went back into afib. My Dr. felt he wanted me to started Flecainide and put in a pacemaker because my heart rate was so slow. Has anyone else went this route and how has that worked for you

Had PAF for 25years started Flecainide and was Ok for years and then had the dose increased had several cardio versions so Consultant recommended Pacemaker.( 18 months )I am still on medication Flecainide and diltiazem am getting on Ok with pacemaker but waiting for appt.To find out next step which could be ablate and reduction of medication.

Looking back I think my slow heart rate whilst I was sleeping triggered the AF I was on the verge of sleep apnoea. My P/maker is set at 60 beats per minute and so far so good. Feel lethargic and no energy but hope that will be rectified when I see the consultant to adjust meds. but appts are hard to get.
