Bisoprolol to Sotalol
Hi everyone. I’ve been on 10 mgs of Bisoprolol for a year, having had the dose gradually increased since my diagnosis in 2017. This drug has served me well in lowering my heart rate when it has gone into Tachycardia territory. My cardiologist has said that if my Afib bothers me me more, then as I am

Shockwave Therapy By Chiropractor
I just went to a Chiropractor for treatment of agonizing pain in my upper back. He wants to treat me with shockwave therapy but I have concerns of this affecting my atrial fibrillation. I am presently only taking an anticoagulant, and no other meds for my AF. Has anyone had this type of treatment

New evidence on the early treatment of low-risk PV patients (using IFN)
I saw this article: Final results from the Low PV study now published in the NEJM Evidence https://fondazionefrom.it/fondazione-from/la-fondazione/news/final-results-from-the-low-pv-study-now-published-in-the-nejm-evidence "The results of the randomized, controlled phase II trial Low PV clearly demonstrated

testosterone
listened to a very interesting podcast by Dr Geo Espinosa who featured Dr Mohit Khera a renowned urologist/scientist at Baylor college of medicine whom Dr Geo refers to as the Lebron James of Testosterone. Very interesting discussion regarding TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) and the BAT (Bipolar

My 40 day post-ablation update
I've replied to a few posts here but think this might be my first post. 40 days ago I a cryoballoon ablation for paroxysmal AFib. Afterwards the EP told me I had 5 pulmonary veins and he estimated 80% chance of remission with first procedure. Since then: - I've only had AFib for 1 hour about 10 days

Vagal Afib
So I was diagnosed with Vagal Afib after several ED visits and having 4 cardioversions. My EP put me on Tikosyn which seemed to shorten the episodes. I am still in the paroxysmal Afib level. I do not drink alcohol or caffeine. Cut out sugar, eating late and stress. My doctor also told me he is suspecting

Lets talk Vagal AFib.
So others that have Vagal Afib, tell me about your journey and what has been helpful. I am on Tikosyn which shortens the episodes but I still get them. Recently when I am doing boot camps and my heart rate gets over 130. I pretty much had to find out my triggers and have not had a drop of wine or caffeine

Why continue taking Orgovyx while also on Zytiga? I just started a clinical trial with LU–177 I&T.
I had my first of up to four treatments last week in the Eclipse clinical trial for LU 177 I&T and I’m wondering why I should continue taking Orgovyx . I’ve heard that production of testosterone is even more efficiently reduced on Zytiga. The less meds, the better for me. Every time we add a new substance

hope is the thing…
from another cancer blog…another potential cancer drug is in the works and going to clinical trials . https://www.etirarx.com/ Fingers crossed, people. There needs to be a breakthrough for this cancer terror. I’ve lost too many friends and feel like I’m swimming up stream.

Three weeks post ablation - slipped beats
Hi all. Had an ablation on Feb 9th. First two weeks were a breeze. Zero symptoms. On days 15 started getting skipped beats. Felt normal rhythm but the delay was hicupp/gurgling. Felt like frog was in my throat too. They don’t last long, usually less than 4 min. Goes back to normal sinus rhythm. Sometime

Atrial Fibulation from cancer treatment not standard Afib. Update post EP Consultation
Hello Everyone so as promised an update. I saw my EP on Friday. He explained that Afib usually occurs around certain sites in the left Atrium (? Is that the correct term) and these are the sites they target when doing an Ablation. He said when we do cryo we can't see where the electrical impulses are

Immunology clinical trial vs. Radiation?
Surgery in 2009, biochemical recurrence beginning 2017, and my slow-rising PSA is now up to 0.63, although my overall doubling time has remained pretty consistently over 2 years on average. My MO has a clinical trial in Phase I using a Listeria monocytogenes based vaccine, which supposedly seeks out

Cardiovascular Protections from Omega 3 supplements now Doubtful
I have been taking a combined Omega3 supplement (EPA and DHA fish oil)to improve my cardiovascular risk profile along with a statin, baby ASA and careful BP management. I am a carnivore/omnivore but only eat fish twice per week usually. (Please don’t beat me up over my diet PBWF folks!) I am not diabetic

Webinar: Pegcetacoplan for Dry AMD
The first-ever treatment for dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) will be the topic of our next My Macular and Me webinar. Pegcetacoplan, which will be known as Syfovre, was approved for use in the US in February to treat patients with late-stage dry AMD – often referred to as geographic atrophy
