Nurse predicts ablation failure
Almost 4 weeks ago, I had an episode of
atrial
flutter
tachycardia at the very end of the three-month post-ablation blanking period. It was mild and I didn’t experience the typical awful fatigue and brain fog. I felt okay.

too old for ablation?
My mom (81) has had bradycardia and afib for decades. About 5 years ago, she got a pacemaker and was put on sotalol & Metropolol, which controlled things well for a while. Recently, she’s been having more frequent episodes of afib (lasting a week or so at a time). Her Dr suggested an ablation, but

I've had persistent AFib for decades. Cardiologist and EP suggested ablation, watchman, every pill and treatment out there but I never felt they were the right thing to do, other than taking many meds, Altace, Toprol XL, Amiodarone, etc. Most recently I had to go onto Xarelto, 'tho I resisted it for

Coping with NSR in the shadow of Afib - tips please!
Something of a big question this, but one I’m grappling with in my life right now. Apart from a month or two early on of feeling an occasional erratic heartbeat, my experience of Afib has been almost entirely persistent. So I have not experienced the episodes of sudden arrhythmias that paroxysmal Afib

Palpitations worse after ablation
Good evening everyone, I’m really struggling after my catheter ablation 10 days ago. The palpitations and ectopics I’m experiencing are awful. So different to the palpitations I was having before my ablation. They are very erratic. I have Dilated Cardiomyopathy and AVNRT. I know it’s early days

Afib with rvr after vomiting
i wrote this on the Afib forum Hi, I am a fit 56 year old who had a migraine, threw up and ended up with afib with rvr and a sustained pulse of over 150 for 40 hours. Usual resting pulse is low 50s. BMI is 22. This potentially happened once before 10 years ago under the same circumstances but it righted

long term outlook on arrhythmias
I know most of you have AF, whereas I have
atrial
flutter
/SVT/
atrial
tachycardia. I had an ablation for
flutter
in October 2020 and am now 55. I enjoyed 3 peaceful years, taking only medication for an under active thyroid and an anticoagulant ( my choice , not the doctors).

Afib and A&E - Update
Hi all, My afib came back around 3 am and it's still here after 7 h. I came to A&E, they did a chest scan and blood and I'm waiting for response. I'm psychologically destroyed by this and I fear they won't do anything because I don't have high rate, leaving me for months in this again waiting for the

Metropolo
I take 25 mg of Metropolo twice a day! I get short of breath when I do house work , my heart rate is in the 90's because I am in AFIB all the time! They are trying to control my blood pressure and pulse with this medication ! Does other people have this problem?

Woke up in Afib
I thought the cardio version last episode would have been the end to this. But nope , like clockwork I was due. I have been journaling and keep track of how I feel. I usually see a dip in HR a few days to a week before ba episode. I seem to have them every 6/8 weeks with one exception in last year of

Complications of Operations with AFIB
Just read a report stating Patients with preexisting atrial fibrillation (AF) have a 31% increased risk of death within 30 days after noncardiac surgery compared with matched patients without AF. I guess my hip operation being cancelled would have been easier to accept if this had been explained

Thank you everyone for your replies. After my visit to A and E on Sunday the doctor told me to take an additional 1.25mg of bisoprolol for 3 days so now taking 2.50mg per day. I think I was a little naive but trusted the hospital to reduce to 1.25 after my cardioversion he said my heart rate was
