Oligometastatic PC and Radiation
Hello all. My 68 year old husband had a routine physical about six months ago that showed a PSA of 77. His PSA had not been tested for seven years prior (which infuriates me). He then had a biopsy that showed Gleason 9 (4+5) prostate cancer. Twelve samples were taken; only one sample was benign. Two

My Final Lupron Injection
After tolerating 44 IMRT treaments and 21 months of ADT pretty well, I am glad to report that my eighth and final three-month Lupron injection was yesterday. My PSA is still undetectable. Admittedly the ADT has taken a it's toll, leaving me somewhat flabby and tired, although I managed to stay very active

Has it been enough years...
...to compare the cure efficacy of SBRT to IMRT over ten years? Does SBRT have a lower incidence of salvage radiation?

Treatment with Casodex since recurrence. Current regimen 50 mg / day. PSA gradually went down from 0.18 at the beginning of 2019 to 0.05

Fast PSA Rise
I just got back from vacation and had another PSA test. The time between tests was 3 months and the rise was from 12.79 to 29.5 resulting in a doubling time of 2.5 months. I am waiting for the oncologist to find my records and call back so it will be a while before I get his opinion as to what to do.

ore details on degarelix (Firmagon)
After a single dose (120 mg) of degarelix to support my ST-ADT in conjunction with pelvic lymph node IMRT, my Testosterone level is castrate (>20 ng/dl). I added this as estradiol patches were slow to get there (T = 63 after 2 weeks). And I am feeling surprisingly good as previously reported with no

D-dimer, Radiation & Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation [DIC]
New study below [1]. I have a number of old posts on coagulation/nattokinase /D-dimer. Cancer increases the risk of life-threatening coagulation, as well as metastasis. Nattokinase, which can dissolve the fibrin in clots, is thought by many men to be protective, but I suspect that most simply take

Hello to all from someone with RP, ADT, and IMRT
I just wanted to introduce myself. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February of 2016 when my PSA rose to 10.6. I was GS 7 (4+3) and aggressive treatment was recommended. I chose RP and had surgery in April '16. The pathology report showed an extra-prostatic extension, but negative margins

Good news
Quick history: dx 10/17, metastatic stage 4 with large tumor in the pelvis. Had docetaxel, Lupron and Zytiga. PSA went form 34 to undetectable in 4 months. Convinced the oncologist that I was oligometastatic That led to 42 sessions of IMRT in summer of 2018. Insurance did not pay, saying local treatment

Whole Pelvic IMRT at Mayo or Local?
Question to the group. I will be having IMRT to pelvic floor and all pelvic lymph nodes soon. But have decision to make. I live in NC, and spend winters at home in central FL. My Mayo Urologist whom is and will continue to be my PC doctor, performed PSMA, Choline, and MRI, to determine my PC was

Update on starting Estradiol Patches for RT ADT
I started Estradiol Patches (4 X 0.1mg/24hr twice weekly patches; one patch changed out daily) 5 days ago. This is for short-term ADT as adjuvant for IMRT of oligometastatic disease of the left pelvic lymphatics identified on Ga-PSMA scan at UCLA. One week in and 10 days more until the RT (60Gy/30fx)

ADT, Zytiga and Fitness
I'd like to hear from anyone who is trying hard to keep fitness up wile on ADT and Zytiga. I've been on ADT for 16 months now and close to a year on Zytiga. In between I've done the six cycles of Taxotere and 26 sessions of IMRT. Do you plateau on strength and endurance losses after a year or so of ADT

Finished HDR-BT and IMRT
It's been a long haul, started in March with neoadjunctive ADT, Lupron+Zytiga, for PCa diagnosed at t3bN1M0 +SV +/mesorectal lymph node, and PSA 33. By June, PSA had dropped to 1.0 just before going into HDR-BT with Dr Chang at UCLA. He did a great job, the procedure was smooth, drove home the next
