Aspirin

I was diagnosed with ET six months ago and am on aspirin and hydroxy with few side effects so, other than occasionally getting over tired, life as a retiree has carried on as normal.

I have 3-5 migraines a week, I have to take anadin (paracetamol, aspirin and caffeine ones) as soon as the change of vision starts and lie in a dark room for a couple of hours. I also use a cold cap. These come at random times and can really affect my life.

Hello everyone I hope you are having a good day I have ET, and started taking 2 baby aspirin and 500 mg daily of Hydroxyurea last March ('22) when my platelets reached 1.095 million. Initially I had multiple side effects so my oncologist decided to keep me on the 500 mg dose.

Aspirin daily and Eplenerone every other day. I have no symptoms of Low Blood Pressure it just seems strange to have gone low , I have checked the machine and it is fine !! ps Not worried just looking to see if anyone has this with HF Regards

I was diagnosed with PV almost 7 years ago and have been taking hydroxycarbamide ( approximately 1000mg daily) and 75mg aspirin daily. I enjoy doing craft work so sore finger tips are particularly annoying. Many thanks in anticipation of replies. Turfbeg

Hi I'm 69 on aspirin and umpteen heart meds my problem is I bruise so easily on my hands and arms I've used arnica which helps a bit, also I've tried hirudoid gel and that helps a bit I just get so concerned about the bruises dr said its because my skin is thinner as I age bloods show satisfactory results

I have been on aspirin for over 10 years, but had to start Pegasys 3 months ago. I haven't tolerated it well. Severe shortness of breath etc. My hematologist reduced my dose to 30 per week, but I am suffering with hypertension (150 to 69/96 on average) and arythmia.

However I read that aspirin can stay in your blood for 10 days, should I wait 10 days before starting Xarelto, or is it safe to start now? Thank you Kate

The tablets are aspirin, clopidogrel, lansoprazole and atorvastatin. Last week I experienced weakness and breathlessness. This week it's a bit of nausea. Has anyone else encountered any of these effects on any of the same tablets?

I imagine that the new aspirin study [JAMA (1)] will get a lot of media play, but I will post anyway. A previous study concluded that the only people who benefit from low-dose aspirin are those who have already experienced a cardiovascular event.

I was then given the spiel about losing weight and maybe taking aspirin which I declined, thinking I might have a brain bleed or something! However at no time did he specifically say it was AF of any type and I never heard from the hospital or my doctor again.

I mean, we still have numerous medicines which are dosed in milligram equivalents of grains - such as some aspirin and paracetamol products. When you see 325 (five grains) rather than 300 or 350. And many other questionable statements and assertions.

I currently take a baby aspirin daily and go for phlebotomies every 2.5 -3 months, I take daily supplements, eat a Mediterranean diet and exercise daily. I have no side effect from the aspirin or the phlebotomy.

Hi I'm 15 months post quadruple heart bypass and doing well ,I'm on anvostatin 80mg,asprin 75mg allopurinol 300mg,amloadpine 5mg and bisoprolol 2,5mg ,just checked letter cardio surgeon sent gp saying he wanted amloadpine stopped after 6month post bypass and bisoprolol 5aken down gradually from 3.75

Treatment regime is (was) daily low dose aspirin and weekly injections of PEG at 46ish units. To my understanding blood clots from flying are a "risk factor" but I was under the impression it was pretty manageable.

Aspirin 75mg am. Astravastatin 40 mg at night. I have cramps in my thighs most days but bearable. Cramp in my upper left and right arms with my neck area tight. Any thoughts appreciated. Thank you.
