I've been diagnosed with possible atrial fibrillation.
I've been taking a low dose (75mg) aspirin every night for about two weeks, seems to have helped me sleep as my heart doesn't thump.
But my GP has prescribed Xarelto which I will start taking. However I read that aspirin can stay in your blood for 10 days, should I wait 10 days before starting Xarelto, or is it safe to start now?
Thank you
Kate

Hi, my husband was on aspirin 75mg for several years for arterial blockage in his leg. When he developed atrial fibrillation he was changed to Apixaban which is the same as Xalreto and did not have a break. Your pharmacist will advise you. Take care.

I stopped taking the low aspirin dose 10 days before starting Xarelto. I've also got a GP appointment and a cardio appointment so all my questions should be answered soon. Thanks
Good news, but remember our Patient Services Team are here if you need any advice, may I recommend downloading the 'AF Discussion Guide' from the AF Association website: heartrhythmalliance.org/afa... to help prepare you for your appointment?
