Ticagrelor. Is it causing my bleeding?
Anyone else on Ticagrelor blood thinners? If so, are you having any issues? I have started to experience blood collecting at the back of the throat, mainly at night, but today it’s been on and off every time I’ve moved! My wife managed to see a pharmacist this morning, who seemed to suspect that it’s

Alcoholic mouth washes and heart surgery
This morning I had my routine six-monthly session with a dental hygienist who detected that I'd been using a mouthwash and cautioned me against overuse and certainly not continuously - not for more than a week. I think that this might have been in relation to my TAVI heart operation last July

Colonoscopy report
Hi folks, I had my colonoscopy this morning, no sedation, didn't even need gas and air. Hopefully this will reassure those of you waiting for one. The prep wasn't as bad as last time. Maybe they've improved things since then. I didn't mind the taste of the Moviprep, though it was too sweet and because

Flecanide questions
Hi, sorry for the long post in advance. I have had AF for many years and it has got more frequent over time, most recently being every 7-9 days and lasting from 12+ hrs but I continued to take the pill in the pocket approach because I really am against taking medication if there's an alternative. I was

heart attack but heart healthy
Firstly I wish you all a happy and new year. I was admitted to hospital in April when I had an unconventional heart attack. I’ve had lots of checks including a CT scan, angiogram and a stress MRI. My heart is absolutely fine apparently. My blood was thick when it happened too many red blood cells which

Length of time in AF
Hi should I be worried my heart has been in constant Af since September . My heart rate goes from 35 bpm to 182, I wear a fitbit so I can track my heart rate. I'm on medication to slow my heart rate I take maximum does as well as blood thinners. I worried that my heart is being damaged by this constant

dentist and anticoagulants
On Thursday I am having two broken teeth removed - both are broken right by the gum so my dentist referred me to an oral surgeon as they were worried about tooth cracking etc. I believe on at least one they may need to cut the gum a little as the tooth isn’t showing but am no dental expert! I take

"AF Duration? Another big story from 2023"
Hi, everyone... it's still the Christmas season for me! but news about AF is always on my radar, so here's something I just noticed. Cardiologist/EP Dr. John Mandrola just published a very interesting Substack article on whether and how the duration of an AF episode affects whether to take an anticoagulant

Go with ERA timings or standard timings?
Hello Would welcome any thoughts. I had an ERA done in February this year (2023) which indicated I was pre-receptive. So I needed an extra 27 hours of progesterone before my transfer. We applied these timings in July with a PGTA tested embryo. On that cycle we also used immune medications and blood
