Looking for a silver lining!
Hi, I have a whopping great thoracoabdominal aortic
aneurysm
(TAAA) on which I'll be having surgery in 3 - 6 month's time. Not a pleasant prospect to say the least. Would be very glad to hear from anybody out there who's had a similar op.

Just been told I have a 'small brain Aneurysm'... but that's all I know?!
Some say small
Aneurysm
should be monitored, and <7mm is less risky, other sources say the size isn't the main thing, it's the thickness of the walls of the
Aneurysm
, which they can't tell unless they go in. Has anyone here been diagnosed with a 'small'
Aneurysm
? If so, anyone on 'Wait, monitor'?

Poor vision
I had a flow stent and coils for a 17mm
aneurysm
repair done on April 29. It was sitting on the optic chiasm . My vision was good pre and immediately post op, however, 4 days later my vision was blurry and I had to go back to the ER and was admitted overnight for more tests.

End of my tether!!
I am just so worried this is a brain tumour or
aneurysm
and no one has taken me seriously all these years and that i'll just die. I try to rationalise it that its to do with my neck and certain positions trigger the headache/make it stop but I cannot 100% convince myself.

One year on!
Hi all, I felt I wanted to post an update on my status one year after having a mechanical AVR plus graft to replace an
aneurysm
on ascending aorta. (I actually wrote a long post some months back but deleted it by accident before posting, doh!).

Local council's a joke
Living with a
aneurysm
is no fun more so when your local council leaves you to deal with anti social behaviour for 18 months. Apparently the person causing the problem is vulnerable! f***k what about me do any of you guy have any advice?

1st rheumy update
Rheumy thoroughly explained gca, possible prednisone effects, other risks and, said, "if you get to feeling better in 2, 3, 5 years you very well may have an aortic
aneurysm
. " Said you can't exercise this away, or mind over matter it away.

Gca RX risk benefit
Dr said if you get thru 2, 3 or 5 years & start feeling better, you have very high risk of aortic
aneurysm
. For me, the treatment may be worse than trying to live untreated. I've had this for quite awhile. I'm not depressed but am sad that this is the way things are going.

I have a much older half sister who had a ruptured brain
aneurysm
in her mid to late 30’s. I have been extremely worried that this is a brain
aneurysm
. I have had an MRA scan that has come back clear but my worries have not subsided at all.

Staying Positive
My health has been up and down over the years...Thyroid problems...Anxiety..Depression....last year I suffered a ruptured
aneurysm
in my brain which saw me spend 2 months in an induced coma, thankfully and somewhat amazingly I pulled through without any serious complications.

Update after flow diverter
Hi after being diagnosed in Jan with 8mm right sided optical
aneurysm
. I had a flow diverter fitted on the 23rd April discharged from hospital on the 24th. I have been recovering well at home. Still headaches and pain in my eye but a relief to know it has been taken care off.

My tri
I did the tri in memory of a dear friend who died very suddenly (from an
aneurysm
) at the age of 64 just over a week ago. It's impossible to make sense of a death like that, but to my surprise doing it for Tim and raising some money for BHF has really helped me to feel a bit better.

They Won’t Do Further Testing Help
I’ve had this stabbing pain behind my right eye for five months now and I’m still the only one who thinks it’s a brain
aneurysm
, no matter how many GP’s, Neurologists or radiologists I speak to. :(

New here....post ablation
I was dx about 4 years ago when I had a thoracic
aneurysm
repair, emergency, and have had severe lower back problems, and now a total of 4 ablations. Prior to this, I worked full time as an RN, and was considered totally healthy.

How my AVR is going so far - six-month anniversary
So it was the six-month anniversary of my AVR and
aneurysm
repair at St Thomas' last week and I thought it worth updating everyone how things are with me, if it's helpful for others. Essentially I feel very lucky to, physically, feel back to "normal" and, in fact, better than pre- the operation.
