Really struggling on pegasys
I just not sure what to do as I have tried
anagrelide
and that did not agree with me either, the doctor said if it does not start working then they would introduce another drug in combination but I am not sure what drug, my mind is a complete mess right now and I just not sure what to do.

Fascinating drug comparison table
Hasselbalch earlier this year summarizes the differences between interferon, hydroxyurea, Jakafi and
anagrelide
in regard to “impact upon clinical, biochemical, molecular, cytogenetic and bone marrow MPN markers and in regard to discontinuation rates due to toxicity and resistance to therapy: http://

Turmeric ok!
Because the various drugs on offer have had rather dire effects on me, following a friend's suggestion after reading a newspaper article about the benefits of Turmeric, I decided to give up
Anagrelide
and try the Turmeric instead. My haematologist is very supportive always.

Current care at local hospital
They called and told me to stop taking the
Anagrelide
. But didn't change appointment. In the letter he more or less said it was my fault for the rise in platelet as I was not taking the medication.

Has anybody had..........?
I take aspirin and
Anagrelide
for the ET, plus Amitryptilene for neuropathy and paracetamol and phosphate codeine for arthritis pain. I haven't any symptoms, definitely not lost any weight, if only. I've done the bowel screening test a couple of times before and it has been ok.

Stabilising platelets
My heamotologist doesn't seem to think it's abnormal and I did mention a change of medication but she said interferon has side effects and she isn't keen on it and I know I can't have
anagrelide
due to a heart defect .

High Blood Pressure
Hi, I have ET and in the last year have changed from Hydrea to
Anagrelide
as I was having problems taking Hydrea after taking
Anagrelide
I did have some side effects but after a few months most disappeared and was left with very fast heart palpitations but otherwise ok.

Good blood results
Although I have had a lot of difficulty losing weight while being on
Anagrelide
, harder than when on hu. Anyway that's a good start to my year so I'm pleased with that.

Platelets up and other blood results!
I've been on
Anagrelide
since mid-August (after 3 years on hu) and my platelet levels have been up and down in that time. Eight weeks ago they were 450, down from 520 three weeks previous to that. I went back yesterday and they were up to 590.
