Ferritin Questions
Hi everyone. I self inject b12, 3x per week. I also take a daily dose of methylfolate. In the past both of these have been extremely low, along with very low ferritin. Of late I have wondered if my iron was dropping, so requested bloods a couple of weeks ago. Folate happily is pretty good at 19( at

anaemia and ADT
but my worry is that I am becoming anaemic with my results as below - I read somewhere that
anaemia
can be an ADT/low T problem but it isn’t usually due to low Iron - And taking iron May not be an appropriate response.

The first set of blood results are back and I was showing as abnormal with the diagnosis of normocytic
anaemia
. Rather than input Every result if you could advise me which parts of the test you would look for, I can post those and go from there. Thank you in advance.

Switched from hydroxy to anagrelide advice.
After a tough year with hospital admissions due to gallstones & sepsis ( recurrent,) & 5stone weight loss, l ve been taken off hydroxy due to
anaemia
, & needing too many blood transfusions. Have been put on Anagrelide & 1 epotein injection per week to try & prevent further transfusions.

Update on colonoscopy
The objective of procedure was to see if any gastric issue causing blood loss /
anaemia
/ very low iron. Consultant keen to try again but this time agreed to use CT colonography which uses a less brutal bowel prep and is a very quick, less intrusive procedure.

Advice moving forward?
So I recently had blood tests that showed low b12, iron and vit D. Was prescribed tablets for the iron and vit D. And put on a course of B12 loading doses. 6 injections over 2 weeks. it's now been 2 weeks after the last b12 injection and none of my symptoms have improved. When I talked to the gp,

Hi everyone. Some of you may have come across one of my posts this week and may have interacted, but if not, hi 😊 I’ve been going through a lot of the posts on here looking for answers to my query before I post this, but haven’t seen anything that covers it. Is there anybody here that has suffered

Inflammation and RLS
I have always believed that inflammation was part of my RLS. I believe this because my RLS responds well to ibuprofen. A recent blog was using this study http://www.smj.org.sg/sites/default/files/SMJ-57-514.pdf The study is from 2016. The study proposes to use the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio

Oral B12
So i am fully aware that those of us with PA don't absorb b12 through our diets, and that we ideally require treatment through IM injections. But i have also seen articles that suggest that it is at least 'possible' to get 'some' b12 from oral supplements. What do we think about this? I have copied in

GP requests blood tests after injections
My daughter has asked her GP for B12 injections (I won't always be around to do them) she has been called in for a blood test, however stating NICE guidelines didn't help. She has previously been misdiagnosed with MS and even her neurologist wrote in a letter last summer that nothing abnormal was found

need advice
Hello, Having B12 defiency my GP has been prescribing me oral B12 which got my levels to normal but hasn’t changed my symptoms. She then prescribed blood tests for parietal cell antibodies and intrinsic factor antibodies. Both were negative. She says therefore I only need B12 orally and not injections

Retacrit Shots
I’m posting this in hopes it may help other MPN sufferers. In early December, 2023, I saw my longstanding oncologist of 20 years. My labs showed 7.2 hemoglobin I was weak and tired. He sent me to a hematologist at Emory Hospital in Atlanta. The new doctor tested me for my EPO level. Mine barely registered
