Now prescribed Amiodarone
Just seen my cardiologist today who has now prescribed
Amiodarone
. He did discuss AV node ablation but wanted to try this medication first, I took Flecainide for 20+ years and then Sotalol in the last year.

Waking up with a faster heart beat because of dreams.
I have had an ablation and since have bad dreams because of
amiodarone
. Thought this was a sign that AF is still symptomatic but maybe not.

Interaction of Citalopram and Amiodarone
I was also prescribed Citalopram 10mg but still on
Amiodarone
although I told the GP I had just stopped. However, I have, after missing only a day, gone back on it again because I felt so angry with the lack of sensitivity of yet another male GP. I feel
Amiodarone
is for the moment protective.

Worried about too larger a dose for Pill in Pocket for my weight.
At the moment I am taking
Amiodarone
but will stop soon. Then it will be 12 weeks after my ablation for AFib.
Amiodarone
has been a blessing and given me peace from the 2nd week of taking it but I know that it should only be short term.

Also not only found correct dosage of Flecainide as PIP but also that Citalopram can have serious side effects when taken with Amiodarone.

Then when I saw my EP he put me on
Amiodarone

Update on Amiodarone and ramipril !!
Hi all, after being cardioverted again in June I've stayed in nsr , ( hooray ) only a couple of hiccups ( couldn't sleep on
Amiodarone
, so arrhythmia nurse ( in July) reduced dose to 100mg ( from 200mg) which did the trick after about 6 weeks ) , had about a week of sleeping well when I started coughing

Post ablation anxieties
I am anxious to come off the
Amiodarone
as that did stop the episodes before my ablation. Bisoprolol and Sotolol did not work. I have been told to come off the
Amiodarone
10 weeks after ablation. My thoughts are "then what" if the AFib comes back.

In favour of Amiodarone
I know that
amiodarone
is not a nice drug to be on for too long, particularly for those that have side affects, but I think it has helped me.

First post from yet another fearful afibber (lone longstanding persistent) facing an ablation!
I am concerned because I live alone and miles from an AandE. 5.I really did not want to go on the toxic drug,
Amiodarone
, but it seems to part of the deal.
