Water Retention
Hello Everyone. Am on Furosemide 40mg, but for the last week I have been getting swollen, painful ankles quite badly. I've had this before but not as bad as this. Feeling concerned at the moment. I would really appreciate any thoughts etc. Many thanks.

Barts today.
Well I am due at Barts today for review. Af been busy last few months. Running over 110 much of the time. So expect I will have to have something 'orrible' done again before long. (3 ablations already). 3rd pm due within 12 months. Been taking furosemide 40 mg. Otherwise I gain weight quickly.

Water retention, where does it come from?
And how does furosemide work? I am actually asking for the cat. We knew something was badly wrong, her abdomen was so swollen, but we didn't want to know what it was. By the time we took her to the vet she weighed 3.8kg, should be 3. She had blood tests, fine, ultrasound, okish but they shaved half her

She also hasn’t drank the recommended fluid amount every day either, only about 1.5ltr. Lorsartan, Furosemide, Apixaban were

Questions about my mother's AF
This is a long post - but I’m keen to hear any opinions. My mother is 89 and was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation about a year and a half ago. She already had a pacemaker, which had been fitted over 10 years ago for sinoatrial disease. At the time of her AF diagnosis she was put on 5mg Apixiban per

Heart failure
I have had a fair amount of chemotherapy in recent years then had a bad bout of pneumonia 2018 and was in hospital for a couple of months. My ejection fraction went down to 30% and was diagnosed with heart failure. Recently I had another echo scan which showed a 45% ejection fraction. When you read on

I have followed this community for a long time but rarely post. However, I am hoping someone can help me. I have been given 40mg
furosemide
and 5mg
Amiloride
the
furosemide
to be increased to 80mg if needed. Although this has improved the outcome I am still quite breathless. do I accept this or pursue things further? I have to return to my EP on 22nd of March or cancel if I am happy.

Heart Failure Medication
Hi just reading a letter from Cardiology on the results of the last Echocardiogram. This ( gentleman ) has known Ischaemic Cardiomyopathy and is being managed by our heart failure nurse. The current echocardiogram revealed an Ejection Fraction of 30 - 40 % with mild dilation of the Left Ventricle.

Post cardioversion fluid
My husband had successful cardioversion on Tuesday but weight went up by 4lb by Thursday morning we are guessing it’s to do with the extra hours lying on a bed and no activity that day, not much the next. Extra Furosemide yesterday has shifted 2lb and doing the same today. Any other tips on keeping fluid

Water retention
Been taking furosemide for a number of months now and only really have a little water retention in my feet/ankles now. As I'm on my feet all day at work the water obviously gets pushed up my lower legs a little. I've started to feel that my knees can be just a little uncomfortable during the day(water

Ramipril and Furosemide - update!
Hi - I was diagnosed with heart failure on Monday. This understandably has knocked me for six! I'm 61 never taken any tablets for anything. Blood pressure is normal. I've been prescribed 2.5 mg of Ramipril which I've been told to take at night. Every morning I've been sick and today had the added joy
