Liver Cirrhosis
My Wife as just been diagnosed with Cirrhosis at 56 years of age and I am trying to understand which natural diet would best help her, she used to drink quite a lot but said she will never drink again which is positive, I am doing a lot of research and does anyone know if stem cell therapy would be worth

Significance of TSH
I was diagnosed in 03/17 with hyperthyroidism. I let symptoms go on for years and am paying the consequences. I developed a-fib, mitral valve regurgitation, congestive heart failure and severe osteoporosis. I think that my endocrinologist is good, but I usually see a nurse practitioner or physician's

High blood pressure
Many of you lovely people helped me through the worry of hubby having a quad bypass. This was 10 weeks ago. He was doing fine and started cardio rehab two weeks ago (twice a week). His blood pressure has been textbook until 3 days ago when he felt weird and when I checked it on our monitor, it was very

Scared
Hi can anyone tell me if they are taking Amiodarone for AF. I see the side effects can be catastrophic, also taking verapamil, digoxin, furosemide and rivaroxaban. I am so scared to take the Amiodarone, I have asthma as well, can anyone help?

Breathlessness and fluid retention
My husband recently diagnosed with heart failure and on Bisoprolol, Furosemide and Doxazosin. I realise it’s important to check for fluid retention but other than check his ankles we’ve decided to weigh regularly a unsure how to know if it builds up around his middle. Could this make breathing worse?

DePrescribing Site Woes
I'm really, really sorry that so many are having trouble accessing the site I posted earlier on medicines to be wary of because of age, I am not a member of that site and have never had to "sign in" so I don't know what the difference is but in this post I'll try to send along some more accessible information

Hello there, my wife has a/f and her body doesn’t tolerate it too good as she gets short of breath on exertion and stairs can be an issue, she is 50 years of age. She had a successful cardioversion 10 months ago which lasted for approx 7 months in which time she felt fantastic, she went in for a second

heart failure after av node ablation
In November last year I had a pacemaker fitted and after 5 weeks had a AV node ablation. I am in persistent AF but intolerant of drugs. Last week I was diagnosed with left sided heart failure. I wrote to my EP at Stoke as I was concerned he is going to see me in clinic at the end of February to discuss

Urine test contained traces of blood
Just been for routine 6 month blood test with urine sample. First one since starting Warfarin. Was told that it’s being sent for further testing as traces of blood but that happens sometimes with Warfarin but checking for infection. Had blood tests last week due to starting Furosemide and that was fine

Heart cough
Sorry, but I'm banging on about my husbands cough & heart failure again!!! He's had a dry cough for a number of years & we've always been told it's the medication. It's now been decided by cardiologist & respiratory consultant that it's probably heart related & he's been prescribed furosemide to start

Heart Failure and exercise. Unable to keep to any exercise routine. Suggestions please.
I have had Heart Failure for almost two years and been told to get more exercise. as I'm on 3 furosemide tablets a day. Walking is difficult because of my breathlessness and the sudden weakness of my legs -this causes me to stop frequently I can’t keep to any form of exercise routine but must try.

Very itchy rash
Woke up this morning with a very itchy rash on my shoulders which is spreading across my body. This is a common side effect of Furosemide, and should be notified immediately. Its Saturday so no one with any knowledge of HF works or can be contacted. Anyone know what I could put on it until Monday?
