Is anyone taking Ambroxol which is essentially a cough syrup or lozenge not routinely available in the US....I've read some studies showing beneficial results for Parkinsons patients but no followup.
Ambroxol?: Is anyone taking Ambroxol which... - Cure Parkinson's
Ambroxol?
yes, feel no different
There’s a massive study being conducted in the UK at present which looks very positive. The big problem is the amount you need to take .The first phase testers were taking over 20 tablets a day ,and so the next problem the researchers face is to try and concentrate the active ingredient into a more manageable dose.Taking the cough mixture at recommended dosage won’t affect Parkinson’s at all.I think you can find a presentation about it on utube. The professor in overall charge mentioned that thr 5 million pounds neede to finish the research has all come from charities and private individuals,as none of the Pharmaceutical companies were interested in something they couldn’t make a good profit on
Yes we take 75 mg of ambrox and I dose of ambrox cough syrup 30mg one dose when coughing at. Nite, also combined 100 mg of doxiciclina, pills every morning, lowers inflammation in brain, my headache are 50% better and my brothers down time reduced 50%
I take it. I buy the drug from India as a powder, make my own 1 gram capsules. I don't know if I feel "different", but it's not really a symptomatic treatment. It theoretically slows the course of the disease, which is hard to feel, right?
My course has been pretty slow, but ambroxol is not the only thing I take (or do). I follow a keto diet, fast, exercise a lot, and take a pile of other supplements/drugs, including exenatide. So who knows?
Great comment, who knows? So many variables...The only thing that has really helped my husband recently is nicotine gum. Cured his day time fatigue, improved concentration, he's more motivated, is planning more, his sense of humor returned and he is able to work...He did keto, exercise and a pile of supplements, but the gum stands out.
