Just diagnosed with 4.0 cm aneurysm of ascending aorta and severe calcification
I am on 50 mg Toprol, 20 mg of
Altace
and 10 mg of Effient, daily, 15 mg Jakafi 2 x a day and 81 mg aspirin a day. And Crestor 30 mg 2 x a week. I read that it is important to control BP with an aneurysm and to not lift over 10 lbs. I don’t see my cardiologist until Jan 10.

DatScan and diagnosis
I am 48 male. I started to have right hand tremors over three years ago. I was diagnosed with essential tremors due to my family history. But after a year my neurologist diagnosed it as PD. He tried Sinamet but didn't help with tremors. Propannol helped with tremors. He also tried Artane which helped

amiadrone
For those of you with hypothyroidism and heart disease, have any of you been advised to or taken amiadrone and warfarin prior to cardioversion to increase likelihood of staying in sinus rhythm? There are so many contraindications for me personally due to other meds and comorbidities.

Repatha - is anyone on it?
hi everyone, I have asked this in Cholesterol but no one has responded as yet. Has anyone taken or been offered Repatha? If so, how did you get on? I have paroxysmal AF, and stable angina. My cholesterol is high, (though I have lowered it naturally) and I’ve now been prescribed Repatha as I can

Repatha - your views
hello everyone, I’ve been asked to take repatha as I can’t tolerate statins. Has anyone had experience of Repatha? I am a bit fearful of injecting myself with a drug. I try to keep well with exercise, diet, and supplements. However, I do have AF and stable angina and seem to be getting AFib episodes

To Dial 999 or Not
Last Thursday was a horrible day. I had a message left on my answerphone from my older sister, who has slight learning difficulties. She said, "Jean I have a pain in my chest and feel terrible", then she was in tears. I immediately called her back and asked which side the pain was, it was her left. Asked

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) vs Heart Attack
It is easy to feel overwhelmed with the amount of ‘medical language’ being used when discussing a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). A sudden cardiac arrest and a heart attack are both emergency situations - you need to dial 999 in UK or 911 in US immediately. Please download our leaflet Sudden Cardiac

Hello there My father had a heart attack almost 2 months ago and had a stent put in. There was some damage done to his heart but the surgeon is waiting to see if time and medication will heal it. He’s been walking for 15-20 min each day and does cardiac rehab 2 times a week all for the past month.

Eating Nuts for Heart Health
If you are interested in eating nuts to improve your health, look up each one to see what vitamins or minerals it will supply and how many you should eat daily. It's important that nuts are 'really well chewed' and if you do that it will not effect pockets that may have formed in the bowel due to

Statins
I had a call from my GP surgery about taking statins.Apparently my cholesterol is okay but I have a 38% risk of having a stroke or heart attack. Even though I take anticoagulant statins work in a different way and are recommended for me as I am in persistent afib I do not want to take statins but wondered

T3 Heart Attack?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone can give me any insight on T3 causing a heart attack? I’m reading really conflicting information as to whether it’s even possible. I had a heart attack at the end of January (I’m only 38) and was told it was a type 2 MI secondary to thyrotoxicosis. I wasn’t given the

Misdiagnosis
I am reasonably new to this site and have found it incredibly useful and informative. However, I recently received a bombshell, in that I have possibly been misdiagnosed with AF. I visited my GP at the end of September in 2023 with severe palpitations and given three ECGs. Two of these were viewed by
