Repatha - is anyone on it?

hi everyone, I have asked this in Cholesterol but no one has responded as yet. Has anyone taken or been offered Repatha? If so, how did you get on? I have paroxysmal AF, and stable angina. My cholesterol is high, (though I have lowered it naturally) and I’ve now been prescribed Repatha as I can’t tolerate statins. I’m very grateful but so fearful. This is because of the side effects that 1 in 10 get - a lot in my view! - and secondly the reviews I’ve read are mainly bad.

By the way, I am very aware Repatha is expensive. 😊

Hi

May be Simvastin works for you, but under research it's given a bad wrap towards it's effectiveness.

Hi

If you want a statin try Emtimbre or something but then I found out it was equivalent to 40mg avorstatin. So held off.

Like my dog in A1 shape and is almost 11 years equivalent 77 years, why take extra medication. I keep mine down to minimum.

Both she JAZ and I have a soft Level 1 heart murmur.

So we never do too much to over strain the heart.

But we are reminded that heart is a muscle so some pressure is necessary.

Keephealthy, weathy and wise.

Venison, ginger, olive oil, some vegetables and potato tonight in the slow cooker. Add a kiwifruit to get that meat soft and ready earlier.

You won't know until you try it. We all have trepidations when new meds are started.

Yes I’ve been taking Repatha every two weeks since 2019 after bad reactions to four different statins. I had to prove my inability to tolerate them before approval for Repatha. I love it. I have zero side effects and my lipid levels improved almost immediately. I think this is my lifesaver since I have genetic disposition toward high cholesterol and heart disease. I got in a Repatha manufacturing plan where I paid 5$ per month for two sureclick injectors. I’m starting Medicare in September and my cost will go up substantially but it is worth it. For me at least. By the way I have afíb and a flutter which is now under control following an abalation in December 2020. I hope this helps.

Hi Rockcake, how did you lower your cholesterol, and what is Repatha, is it to lower cholesterol, and if it is, why are you taking it if you have lowered cholesterol naturally.

have you read any of Dr. William Davis book's. Or look him up on you tube and find his info on cholesterol. BTW, he is a heart dr here in the U.S.

Hi

Well, I've never heard of it and even the latest Cholesterol meds this is not listed. Avorstatin seems to be used alot.

But remember the guy who could not walk after 2 years taking statins.

I read that 10mg is as effective as 40mg!

Also you need to stop your Statin before you can take the Anti-virus for COVID.

We all need Cholesterol for healthy working nerves, energy, everything so why hinder it's pathway to our holistic health.

Not even my Chemist likes any of these cholesterol meds.

Taking thyroxine I can only take up to 20mg.

My friend immediately after being given 40mg Avorstatin was informed that she was now prediabetic. No more honey on her toast, no more than 1 toast at breakfast and on and on it went. My friend 82 years, thin with MS having to change her diet of porridge oats and toast (2) Vogel in the morning. She became very upset.

She died in January after a fall (sore ribs & fractured coccyx), then Covid and after a neg test for Covid fell before bedtime. No one helped her at bedtime so she had a fall whilst alone and cold en route to bed, the b/f carer found her unconscious. She. died on day 3 in hospital never to regain conscientious.

Retirement Villages all have concrete flooring. Watch out for falls.
