Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency

I was diagnosed with alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency over 2 years ago. I now have emphysema and high white blood cell count. But my doctor says I no longer have alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. Is this possible??

No diagnosis yet but AMA+. Any advice?

The liver doc ordered many blood tests (Hep AB&C, Smooth Muscle Antibody, Ferritin, Lipase, Antinuclear antibody, Alpha-1-Antitrypsin, Celiac, GGT and Mitochondrial antibody). All normal except Anti Mitochondrial (AMA) positive with readings of 38 and 30 (normal is under 20).

People of HealthUnlocked - COPD: Preparing for a Double Lung Transplant

Subsequent tests ruled out cystic fibrosis and Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. I believe that COPD was noted on my records from this stage. By my mid 20s, I was balancing motherhood and a full-time teaching career. It was hard work, and the term before Christmas was the worst.

Ambroxol

Would anyone share if you have participated in a clinical trial using the drug Ambroxol for PD? There have been several clinical trials which have published encouraging resusts, mostly in the UK. I am not formally in a trial but have been duplicating the dosage for about 12 months. My experience is favorable

Recent alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency diagnosed

My Dad told me to get tested and I did and I have tested + for alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency. My GP will not do any follow up appointments as they say I am symptomatic and there for nothing else can be done. This leaves me feeling very vulnerable and uniformed.

IBOGA

Iboga, ordered 25 grams today and will start "microdosing" soon. Iboga is legal in Germany. I already had party drug experience two decades ago! :-) . A phase 2 study is to begin. I am currently establishing contact. Excerpt from a letter: In the meantime, iboga is not only interesting for addiction

Big, big trouble Houston

I’m 60 now but a guy so I’m still prone to daft things like buying Microsoft Flight Simulator. I flew a 747 the other day and blimey did it let me know when I tried a questionable manoeuvre. Red lights, Commercial Airliner Crash Warning sirens etc. Well it’s sort of a metaphor for me currently. Some

Thybon Henning doesn’t contain acacia?!

Sharing for info but also a question around changes to formulation. I’ve recently had my T3 increased which meant moving to Thybon Henning 20s. Since I’m allergic to acacia, I set about trying to find out if it contained it. I spoke to 2 pharmacies (SmartWay and Roseseway Labs) as well as doing my

A question about ashwagandha?

I was looking up this herb for interactions on the pharmacuetical database I subscribe to and read the following. I am concerned about any herb that could suppress dopamine, does the statement below mean that dopamine is also reduced which is not good effect for PD? I know many folks with and without

New form of gene editing efficient for treatment of Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, liver and lung disease

New research results show that a new form of gene editing is efficient in correcting a mutation in patient cells with the monogenic disease Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD), a common inherited disease that affects the liver and the lungs.

Nuchido Laboratories claims a HUGE increase in NAD+

I've been looking at all of the many, many approaches that have been tried in order to increase NAD+. Niaicin, Niacinamide, NR, NMN are a few. The reasons why NAD+ is important are too numerous to list. If you need just one reason, NAD+ is how the energy we bring in (food) becomes energy that our cells
