Asthma without infection
Brief history. Moved north to West Yorkshire in 1974 (aged 29). Started with beathing difficulties. Had allergy tests and a course of desensitisation injections, which worked, but whenever I caught a cold, it morphed into a sore throat and chest infection leading to gasping for breath. Major attack

Hi there, I am on seretide evohaler 250 x 4 and recently added on spiriva respimat and montelukast (which have been a game changer in stablising things) after worsening chronic asthma. Am in process of getting comprehensive lung tests under a a consultant. He suggested to stay on seretide high dose

Advice please, headaches with Duoresp Spiromax but otherwise working well???
Been on Duoresp Spiromax for couple of weeks. Seems to be working well for breathlessness but I get headaches with it. Has anyone had this and - if so - how long did the headaches last for. I am loathe to try yet another inhaler. Thank you for any replies.

DUORESP SPIROMAX
Changed over to DUORESP Spiromax last Friday. It helps slightly but how long do I need to use this for the benefits to get into my system 100%? I have something planned for next week that I really want to go to 😟. Am I expecting too much too soon?

DUORESP SPIROMAX
In the middle of changing inhalers. Tried Fostair but has not worked at all for me. I am now going to be trying DUORESP SPIROMAX. I have never heard of this but respiratory nurse thinks it is worth a try. Has anyone used this and how have they got on with it please? Many thanks for any replies. I do

Duoresp Spiromax Vs Symbicort Turbuhaler
I have been on Symbicort Turbuhaler for a few years and it has been fine. When I last went to get my script filled, the pharmacist asked if I wanted to try the Duoresp Spiromax - said it was exactly the same as Symbicort, but a better delivery method/easier to use inhaler. I used it for 2 nights. Both

A few medical issues since starting DuoResp Spiromax 160/4.5 Budesonide/formoterol three weeks ago
Hello there, I still have not had a diagnosis for my bronchiectasis like symptoms; my chest x-rays showed scarring in march, but are now all clear now. Since my last serious chest infection earlier this year I have been perfectly healthy, active, cough and asthma free, only taking Fostair 100/6 four

Duo Resp Spiromax
Has anyone noticed an improvement on changing to DuoResp Spiromax? I was taking seretide for years and then went on to Fostair which was no good. In previous years I have been short of breath for several weeks from March until end of June. I have had the odd blip which lasted a few days. I take

Asthma harder to control after switching inhalers
Hi, After reading a recent post it started me wondering if the reason my asthma flared up again, a couple of months after switching inhalers and has been difficult to control since, is because the switch wasn’t equivalent to what I was taking before. 🤔 For years I had been on a high dose: 2 puffs

Questions about Spiriva and referral
Hi, I’ve just taken my first dose of Spiriva and am always a bit edgy when taking new things 😅. I realised after taking it, that the instructions didn’t say anything about shaking it before use, is that because it’s a different kind of inhaler to Fostair which is my other inhaler? Also it didn’t

Add on of Atrovent
Hi, Hope everyone is well. I’m having another flare up of my asthma, it has been poorly controlled for about 6 months and I’m on my third lot of prednisolone. I’ve only ever been on one steroid inhaler which is currently Fostair 100/6, having switched to this from Duoresp Spiromax 320/9 a couple of

Symbicort and duoresp spiromax
Are symbicort and duoresp spiromax the same? I am asking because symbicort is not working for me and I was exchanged for a duoresp spiromax. What should I do?

Asthma symptoms whilst taking Fostair
Hi, hope you are all doing ok. I’ve got a question I hope you’ll be able to clear up for me. Just before Christmas my meds were swapped from Duoresp spiromax 320/9 2 puff, twice a day, to Fostair on a SMART regime. As I was reducing steroids over the first week, I was told to take 8puffs for 2 weeks

Hi, Can anyone advise me on using a spacer with Fostair please
I’ve used a spacer with salbutamol and given it a shake before use, but I’m not sure if I need to shake Fostair before using it with a spacer. Is it a powder inhaler? I’ve been on Duoresp spiromax, which I took without a spacer and it wasn’t necessary to shake it before use. But now I’ve changed to

DuoResp Spiromax for Fostair NEXThaler
Hi, I renewed my prescription yesterday and instead of my regular Fostair NEXThaler, I was given DuoResp Spiromax, due to the former being in short supply. Is this due to the current crisis or is it going to be a permanent thing?

Flutiform Inhaler
Hello, I am struggling with my DuoResp Spiromax inhaler in that it does not control my asthma and find I keep needing to use my Ventolin inhaler. I am currently on 3 puffs twice a day so is a higish dose. I spoke to an Asthma UK nurse who was most helpful and said that it may be better to try a PDI inhaler

Shielding
Hi! I’m aware that a lot of questions have probably been asked about this already, so I’m sorry! I’ve looked at the Asthma UK guidance and I think I should be shielding? I take my reliever daily as my asthma isn’t controlled and my Duoresp Spiromax was on the list. I am no longer on montelukaast (sp?

Asthma Newby Seeking Advice
I’m relatively new to the problems with Asthma and would be grateful for some advice. I was diagnosed with Asthma 4 years ago and for the majority of that time I took 1 puff of my inhaler in the morning and never had any symptoms in just under 4 years. At the end of last October I had a viral infection
