Lactose in asthma inhalers
Having spent years on Seratide 250 I was told by the asthma nurse that Lambeth policy was to stop prescribing it and my medication was changed to DuoResp Spiromax 160. I had trouble adjusting and felt like my asthma was out of control, found this web site and started calming down. But I had kicked off

Change of inhaler
Can anyone tell me if there is any advantage to changing from 2 puffs Seretide 250 twice a day to DuoResp Spiromax one puff twice a day? I have successfully managed my asthma [I'm 66] but the asthma nurse tells me Seretide is being phased out. From all I've read it's a cost issue but I am worried I

Duoresp spiromax inhaler
I've had well controlled asthma for many years. Was previously taking symbicort inhaler with no problems. I was then changed to duoresp spiromax and didn't think anything of the change until today when the penny dropped. I've spent all night in an austrian hospital whilst on my family holiday. I woke

PIP awarded until Feb 2019 Taken off me
Hi After being awarded standard rate for daily living mid 2016 until Feb 2019 I was pleased. My husband is my constant carer as I struggle with all daily tasks. Daily living is a struggle to say the least. Out of the blue earlier this year the DWP sent a form to fill in about changes to my disabilities

Side Effects Of Duoresp Spiromax Asthma Inhaler
I am still suffering the side effects of duoresp spiromax. I used it for one year not realising that my asthma was getting worse because of the inhaler. I was on Symbicort and one fine day my GP said I was prescibed Duoresp spiromax as a cost cutting measure. My asthma got worse I started wheezing soon

Asthma getting worse and meds are not helping at all
Hi everyone! I’m relatively new here and need some advise. Basically my asthma is getting worse and worse since last August. My GP/ asthma nurse have been increasing my meds since last October. They have changed me from just needing a blue inhaler ever so often to duoresp spiromax 3 puffs/ twice a day

Side effects of Duoresp Spiromax Inhaler
I have had asthma since 1989. But it was under control till one year back. I was switched to Duoresp Spiromax inhaler because my GP explained it was a cheaper option my surgery was prescribing as a cost cutting procedure by the NHS. Everything went down hill from last year. But it never crossed my mind

A Newbie
Hi All, Firstly a very happy 2018 to everyone, I've been reading a few of the comments on here for a week or two now as I was recently diagnosed as having asthma. I'm kind of managing but have had a couple of "episodes" mainly during the night where I have woken up short of breath, tight chest, sweaty

Asthma and scuba diving
For 8 months now I have been prescribed duoresp spiromax and my asthma seems better controlled than it has been for 30 years. However I have recently trained as a scuba diver and plan to progress further in my new hobby. Although my gp has declared me 'fit to dive' I am concerned about the conflicting

Bronchiectasis, exercising and mucus!!!
Can anyone give advice on exercising with bronchiectasis ( also waiting for ABPA diagnosis confirmation)? I walk my dog twice a day and get breathless so of course I end up coughing and then have to cough out phlegm from my chest! I would love to go to the gym like I used to 12 months ago before I got

Asthma? Apparently not
Hi all desperate newbie here, after maybe 4 years of putting up with this annoying nocturnal cough, and not so helpful doctors I thought I'd come here. I've been asthmatic from a baby (was very early and under developed) with no allergies, I've gone through up to 2 months in hospital and numerous long

a rant..because i have to..
So a few days ago I was sat on a train, staring blankly out of the window trying to read the graffiti on the walls and bridges anything really to take my mind off the pain and block out the constant chattering of the many on their mobiles. I sank into my seat and attempted to close my eyes, perhaps I thought

Different meds combinations and side-effects
Hi there, I seem to be gathering up a few long-term tablets to take over the years, as well as my bronchiectasis inhalants, acid reflux Omeprazole, anti-epilepsy, etc. Can anyone who is currently on DuoResp Spiromax and Spiriva, for example, offer their experience of taking these as well as Alendronic

Recently Diagnosed at 46
I am a 46 year old male and recently been diagnosed with asthma! I have always been an active and sports orientated individual. As a youth was involved in the harriers and ran at a high level and was picked for English schools and was a County Champion. The events which I excelled at were short anaerobic

DuoResp Spiromax
Two weeks ago my prescription was changed from Symbicort to the DuoResp by my surgery.(I'm guessing its a cost cutting exercise). Since then I have had short bouts of shaking and shortness of breath. I had none of these problems whilst using the symbicort. I'm about to make an appointment to get my old

What to do...
Hi folks. Since coming down with a cold at the weekend I have developed a chest infection which's made my asthma flare up so I am coughing and wheezing much more than usual. My asthma, which was only diagnosed towards the end of last year, still isn't under control which doesn't help. I am now on my

Help/advice needed
I think someone posted on this site some weeks ago that asthma was a condition that could not be counted as part of sickness absence- am I correct or cracking up?! The reason I ask is that I work in the public health sector as a nursing assistant but I have had four periods of time off sick in recent

Duoresp Spiromax 160/4.5mcg
Hi folks. Sorry to be a nuisance, but I was just wondering if anyone else has used this type of inhaler before. I have just started using it today following a review with the asthma nurse but it's so completely different from all the others I have had since being diagnosed last October as I no longer
