Hi, I've had asthma since I was 2 years old, probably due to my parents' smoking. By the age of ten I seemed to have outgrown it. I have, however, had breathing difficulties of one sort or another most of my life. In the last few years, those difficulties have become more acute. I really need an

Doctor appointment
Went for my lung doctor appointment a few days ago I even brought my portable oxygen so I wouldn't get to much of a lecture as I haven't been using it for months. He just encouraged me to use it when I go for my walks. He also told me to walk faster, not sure why as I am not in a hurry to go anywhere

Doctor appointment went well.
Went to see my primary care doctor in order to get medications renewed. She was surprised to see me without oxygen and that I no longer was taking Advair. She said I looked well but wanted to hear what my lung doctor had to say about it. I told her I would be seeing him on the 27th of September. She

Short of breath and cold symtoms all the time
Is why my dr ordered the xray, blood test, and CT scan tomorrow orderred. For a mass found on my lung Can anything be done about easing my breathing while I go through the tests. I take Advair, Incruse, and ventolin as a rescue inhaler, with no help is their something stronger I can ask for.

Mucus from one lung after 6 months smoke free
Hi All. I'm writing this post as I'm a bit scared about the continual production of mucus from my left lung. I have little to no cough, just a frequent stream of mucus that seems to come from my left lung. I don't cough the mucus up, I just hack it up when I can feel it lingering in the left side of

Rapid heart rate
Hi everyone 😊 I was just put on Advair which my insurance would not cover. I took the alternative of taking 220mcg Flovent ( corticosteroid) and 50mcg Severent ( salmeterol). These meds made a miraculous positive difference, was using rescue inhaler several times a day, now only 1- 2 times. PFT shows

Sudden Chronic Shortness of Breath in Young Healthy Adult Male (Mystery Diagnosis)
Hello, I am a 23 year old male who first started experiencing symptoms on July 1, 2016 (about 7 months ago). I was in prime physical condition with 9 hours of outdoor carpentry daily, 3-4 days of calisthenics a week and 3-4 sessions of 30 minutes swimming across a lake and back. I had a history of asthma

tickle cough
I has been prescribed Advair diskus 250/50. Started it last month, on my second month & have a fairly constant "tickle" type cough. Occasionally there will be clear mucus but rarely. I guess this is a side effect? Any suggestions to help with this would be appreciated. (I was recently diagnosed with

IPF (and so much more)
Hello to all! My name is Renee from Canada. I have IPF I think maybe stage 4 by now and am on oxygen 24/7 between 4 for sleeping and 15 on exertion. This really sucks having to drag around oxygen tanks. Not to mention that doing so takes even more energy away from me. My IPF apparently was brought

New to COPD
I have a few questions I'm hoping someone can help me with? 1) At what stage you were referred out to a pulmonoligist? 2) Does anyone else have a ulcer with this? I'm not sure if it's normal or not? 3) can you feel this in your lungs or is it just a feeling of breathlessness? 4) did you ever have swelling

Feeling frustrated
Hi, I was diagnosed months ago by my GP with COPD. At that time I started taking Advair, which helped a lot. Problem was it caused me to have vertigo so I had to change meds. Recently I went to a pulmonologist and she did a thorough breathing exam. The test results that she obtained indicated that
