Hi, I've had asthma since I was 2 years old, probably due to my parents' smoking. By the age of ten I seemed to have outgrown it. I have, however, had breathing difficulties of one sort or another most of my life. In the last few years, those difficulties have become more acute. I really need an inhaled corticosteroid twice daily to breathe comfortably. My doctor recently prescribed Flovent. I tried to use it for several months and had repeated difficulty in getting enough medication. Several inhalers worked sporadically despite careful use. I have gone back to Advair and am already having difficulty with hoarseness. Sometimes I can barely speak clearly. My question is, is there anything that can be done for hoarseness beyond gargling and rinsing after each use?

Try Manuka honey, and a cool mist vaporizer with a few drops eucalyptus oil.
Have you tried Manuka honey in your tea in the morning? Also try a oil diffusing mister with eucalyptus oil a few drops in it while you sleep.
