Guanfacine IR vs XR
We started with Ritalin and
Adderall
, both of which gave him extreme rage issues. Our doctor suggested we switch to Guanfacine immediate-release. He is currently on 2mg in the mornings, working our way up slowly over the last 4 months or so.

Too quick to diagnose?
succumbing to intense anxiety for which I was prescribed anti-depressants by my doctor who thought it was likely I had ADHD but felt the anxiety needed to be treated first, and finally a couple of weeks ago seeing a psychiatrist who diagnosed me the same day with ADHD (Combined type) and prescribed

Partner Support with Medication
Does anyone have a partner that isn’t supportive of using medication (in my case
Adderall
) towards their treatment for ADHD? Or are you a partner that your significant other takes medication and you are against it and why?

Different manufacturers’s generic Adderalls work differently to you as well?
My pharmacy said they no longer carry generic
Adderall
from the manufacture that I prefer. I don’t know what to do…

Looking for medication advice for ADHD-inattentive type and anxiety
A nurse practitioner prescribed me
Adderall
recently but after reading about it some, I am afraid to take it. Any advice about this would be helpful.

Experiences with Concerta
I have tried
Adderall
in the past and while I liked the focus it gave me it was too harsh for my stomach and gave me heart palpitations. I started Concerta a little over a week ago. The first couple days it was amazing.

Adderall IR 10mg
I was just diagnosed on Monday and started
Adderall
instant release 10mg yesterday. I'm wondering will I start to feel effects over the next few days/weeks or if I'm not feeling it immediately, it's not going to happen at all at this dose? I definitely feel... something.

Alcohol, Adderall, and ADD
No one believes me because
Adderall
is a stimulant! Lol! Now that I am taking the
adderall
, the alcohol is more of a depressant and I don't get the energy from it any more and don't enjoy drinking like I used to, which is AWESOME!! Has anyone else experienced this?

Stimulants for RLS?
An idle thought - could stimulants, specifically dopamine reuptake inhibitors (like Ritalin,
Adderall
, Vyvanse) treat the symptoms of RLS? Intuitively I would think yes, given that dopamine agonists are widely used for RLS.

Effective ADHD treatment for spouse who doesn't seem invested in change
Even though he sees a therapist and psychiatrist, is taking
Adderall
and Lexapro, the only change I've seen in him is that he can pay attention to what I say well enough to go on a tangent about something related to what I've said (when before he would start in with something unrelated).

Help for a Newbie!
Psych moved me back to
Adderall
- 30 mg IR twice a day. This still wasn’t addressing my main concerns. He added 125 mg Wellbutrin, since the
Adderall
is helping my attention. So far, day 3, I don’t feel a difference.

Irritable on Adderall XR
I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and started on 10mg
Adderall
xr and everything was going well for about a month. Then I started to feel very irritated by everyone. I would snap at my husband and daughter for every little thing.

Desperately looking for an amazing ADHD psychologist/therapist/coach. Ideally with decades of experience and a serious degree.
He is on
Adderall
and Prozac which do not really help. He does manage to read and he reads a lot. He sleeps days and stays awake at night – his day/night cycle is completely destroyed by medications.

Questions for veterans of Adderall (amphetamine)
How many of you are using the name brand
Adderall
vs. a generic dextloamphetmine? I'm asking because I often feel like I get pills of generic that are of different strengths. I heard from a health care provider that name brands have stricter tolerances for bioavailability of the drug.

New Here: Life + ADD = overwhelming
Adderall
and anxiety meds don't actually make things get done. 6. Stress and busyness of aging parents, difficult teens, household responsibilities, career ambitions, my own health issues, etc, is making my ADD symptoms more intrusive than ever.
