Final BMB on AVO Trial Tomorrow
If my last node is down by 1mm over my last staging, then I’ll get to decide about staying on the
Acalabrutinib
and Venetoclax or stopping them both. My current leaning is toward coming off. Thoughts? Glenn

CALQUENCE gets FDA approval for treating CLL
The latest approval for Calquence (
acalabrutinib
), a Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor, was granted under the FDA’s Real-Time Oncology Review and newly established Project Orbis programs. Calquence binds covalently to BTK, thereby inhibiting its activity.

Flu shot and Acalabrutinib
I'm in the USA on
Acalabrutinib
since June 21 2019. I had the flu shot meant for 65+ last Friday and started feeling woozy after about 1 1/2 hours later, with a small 99+ temperature. I spent the weekend off and on in bed. I felt like I had been in a dog fight, dog winning.

BTK + anticoaculant/antiplatelet---update
I met with my NIH
acalabrutinib
trial Principal Investigator last week. A stent will not exit me from the trial, thankfully. He advises protecting the heart since so many new CLL drugs are within sight of approval. Will stop

I plan to be more specific next time i write, but at this point I'd like to ask if anyone is in the
Acalabrutinib
, Venetoclax, Obintuzumab clinical trial at Dana Farber. I have 17p and am being recommended for the trial. I have an appointment at Dana Farber tomorrow to go over the details.

2nd Update on Possible Richters Transformation
I will be starting
Acalabrutinib
in a few weeks, trying to put it off as long as possible. Lymph nodes have increased significantly along with fatigue and my counts are higher than anytime since I was diagnosed. Now I’m starting to wonder, if I fail
Acalabrutinib
also where do I go from here?

Factors Identified for Risk of Second Cancer in CLL Following BTK Inhibition
It was thought that the lack of DNA damage with Ibrutinib and
Acalabrutinib
would prevent this risk.

Anyone taking 100 mg of acalabrutinib?
I switched from
acalabrutinib
to venetoclax. Now I plan to take both. I want to only take 100 mg of
acalabrutinib
to minimize side effects. Is anyone doing well on that dosage?

Newly diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia or Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma - CLL/SLL or just found us? This post is for you!
Some members have been doing well on maintenance Ibrutinib for over 10 years and on a second generation version
Acalabrutinib
for over 7 years. Newer, non-chemo limited treatments are providing long remissions after just over a year of treatment.
