Life without Ibrutinib
He has decided to let me run without treatment until we start to see doubling rate increase, then switch me to
Acalabrutinib
. Right now I’m in remission, and I’m waiting for the results of my MRD to see how long I can stay off treatment.

Managing the cardiovascular risk of Bruton's Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors in chronic lymphocytic leukemia
Low risk cases may be safely treated with BTKis; Favor more 2nd-generation BTKis (
acalabrutinib
or zanubrutinib) or alternative treatments. BTKi treatment may be continued in consultation with MDT for patients with: Permanent/persistent AF, HTN, History of myocardial infarction.

Calamity strikes again
I haven't had heart problems before but wonder if it is possible that there's a link to my
Acalabrutinib
. I have been prescribed blood thinners and beta blockers which I would rather not have unless they are essential. I am going to try and get an appointment with my GP.

Side effectsof treatment
I have been given a booklet to read first,Welcome to Calquence (
acalabrutinib
) Has anyone been in this and did they suffer with side effects from it? There seems to be so many listed that I am a bit concerned as to how I will feel once started. Thanks

Anyone gone off Acalabrutinib and experienced lasting remission?
My husband has been taking A-brutinib since April 2021 (over a year now). His last blood showed blood levels at “normal” (non-CLL) numbers, and his onc was very pleased - “The drugs are doing their job.” The million dollar question we forgot to ask - can one go off A-brutinib the way it seems some do

Tachycardia and Ibrutinib
Waiting to speak to my consultant on the next steps….I would suspect a move to
Acalabrutinib
. I’m so annoyed because I have done so well on ibrutinib. No side effects and complete control of my disease. I guess these major events are a risk to us all…..

Coming off medication
I’ve been on
Acalabrutinib
for 10 months. WBC has dropped from 101 to 12.1 which is obviously good news. However my haematologist tells me even if/when WBC reaches normal I will continue on treatment. Has anyone had a similar experience and eventually come off treatment?

How long before Acalabrutinib kicks in?
How long (days, weeks, months) on
Acalabrutinib
before some of you folks started seeing improved blood #'s and how long/severe did things go backwards before blood started going in the right direction?

recent immunotherapy trial results
In reading the recent immunotherapy trial reports it has me worried and it makes me wonder if my husband will go into remission...He is doing very well (with no side affects) in a Dana-Farber study (he is on
Acalabrutinib
- since March and Obinutuzuimab IV (last dose in August) and Venetoclax).

MY JOURNEY: COVID, EVUSHELD, PAXLOVID and CLL
NIH agreed to let me halt
Acalabrutinib
in January, 2019, keep me in the trial and has been seeing me every 3 months. I remain MRD Undetectable on Flow. I have had 3 full doses of Moderna (not a booster of Moderna).

What a journey
and a lot of sole searching, with a neck that looked like a basketball, WBC at 390,000 I done 12 weeks of Rituximab and Benadryl, that took my neck size to normal, but gave me time to look for a clinical trial, soon after stopping my cancer came back really quick, so I started a trial using ACP-196 (

request for advice on experiences with acalabrutinib treatment for CLL
I am about to start CLL treatment with
acalabrutinib
and would welcome comments from other people with experience of using this treatment, especially with regard to the incidence of side effects, their severity and how to cope with them or, if possible, reduce them.

Did anyone have MGUS progress into CLL, and after treatment for CLL, did your MGUS improve or no longer exist?
I was diagnosed in October 2021 with CLL, and will be starting treatment with
Acalabrutinib
in two weeks. I asked my doctor if
Acalabrutinib
would treat both my CLL and MGUS. He said CLL makes the MGUS protein and that the treatment should apply to both conditions.

Breakthrough in laboratory production of red blood cells towards saving lives of those with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia in the future
Even targeted therapies for CLL like
acalabrutinib
or venetoclax have an impact on bone marrow production.
