Hashimoto and Kelp
Hi there, I was listening to Dr Berg who said hashimotos patients should take iodine supplements. I have purchased 400 Kelp but reading further this may be detrimental to Hashi patients. I haven't been tested for iodine levels. I would appreciate your comments

Help for granddaughter please
I have hyperthyroidism and asked people on this forum about having radioactive iodine which I didn't think was right for me. I was told to avoid it and have done so. Thank you My 20 year old granddaughter is stacking on weight (I know this is usually due to hypothyroidism) admittedly she is eating

The role of vitamin B -12 in Thyroid health
To encourage both to be at their best, special attention need to be paid to thyroid gland health and vitamin B-12 intake. A sluggish thyroid, or hypothyroidism may cause you to be deficient in vitamin B-12, and the resulting vitamin B-12 deficiency can further exacerbate the slow thyroid or negatively

Had a sub total thyroidectomy in 1978 after 3 years of trying to get the levels normal. Was left and never followed up. I assumed I had been "cured". Sixteen years later they discovered I had gone hyperthyroid again and had radioactive iodine treatment. I am on 75mcg Levothyroxine and suffering with

Acute Pelvic Pain
Hello, all! Has anyone else experienced stabbing pelvic pain and muscle spasms in upper legs while on synthroid? For background, I had my thyroid removed a year ago for cancer and then had radioactive iodine. I’m currently on 150 mcg for synthroid and it’s working fine. But I went to the emergency

Vitamin deficiency is becoming an epidemic in the USA and mimics a lot of other illness but doctors aren't telling you!
My husband and I felt the same way for many years until we were diagnosed with vitamin deficiency not by a doctor but a vegetarian nurse practitioner she saved our lives. Doctors tell people to cut back or stop eating red meat, dairy and eggs which rich in B 12 and eat plenty of fruits a veggies and

Newbie here: Blood results and do I need a T3 test ?
I'm so grateful for stumbling across this board and for people giving up their time to advise. I'll try to keep it brief but a bit of background is important... Diagnosed with Graves Disease 2003 which led to me deciding on radioactive iodine treatment in 2006. No medication until I noticed I was putting

I was previously on 125mg but moved onto super healthy diet as had shingles twice in 3.5 weeks in December. The doctor thought there was a

Formerly graves before RAI treatment turns hashimotos
I finally got a TSI antibodies test after getting the RAI treatment 8 years ago. I was hyperthyroid and my endo thought it was Graves. I dont believe I was ever given this test nor had a scan of my thyroid. I had stayed hyper until 3 years ago and then became “normal” for a year. 1 later (2 years ago

Hashimoto, new here, need your help.
Hello, can you please help my wife to adjust her medication. I’m writing for her as she doesn’t speak English. I have an account myself as el_escogido but I opened this account for her to avoid confusion. Female, 67 years old, diagnosed Hashimoto first 1998, stopped treatment 2000, restarted treatment

Restoring my thyroid medication
Hello, can you please help me, After taking a break of 5 weeks with my thyroid medication, I’m starting restoring. I had a stroke, as I was on only T3 the doctors who couldn’t detect TSH, panic and ask me to interrupt the taking of any Thyroid medication, though T3 wasn’t the reason for the stroke

feels like a charley-horse, then keeps on just like after a charley-horse, spasm, then BURN-BURN-BURN and itching. They rinse, then give me cool wet cloth, I ask to rinse again, again, again, then wet cloth. I talked by phone, sent a letter, talked to Nurse, talked to Doctor. I cannot stand another

Is anyone on high doses of T3?
HI! Am new here... I've been on 1 grain Nature Throid and 50 mcg of compounded cytomel for about three months. I know for a fact I respond terribly (instant weight gain, fibro pain, etc...) right away when I up the NT or take ANY T4 at all (only good thing is that my eyebrows start growing in, but not
