Neck resection and thyroidectomy
I had a left hemi thyroidectomy 3 years ago and 3 doctors at the time felt that was sufficient. My latest US shows papillary cells in the lymph nodes on the left and central neck. I am scheduled for a left lymph node resection and removal of the right remaining thyroid at Mt Sinai on 4/20. I am so nervous

Endocrinologist advice and T3 reaction
Hi there again, hope you are all well. I am looking for some recommendations and advice if possible please. So I started taking t3 alongside t4 in February (after some help from this forum) building the dose up slowly to 20mg a day alongside 100mg of Levo. I had a bad skin reaction mainly on my face

I am wondering if you can help. Recently had to change GP due to house move and the one I see has been very good t an extent. Today heard from a different one who was no use. I had requested certain blood tests but it seems these are the only ones they did.....managed to get a copy. Serum free T4 level

I miss the old me 😟
I feel so sad. So exhausted. First day back in work after my thyroidectomy and RAI which were both a while ago but have been furloughed and I feel absolutely exhausted 😢 Will I ever get my energy back?

From hyper to hypo after RAI. Glad to exchange with anybody who can relate.
I wrote my story on my profile. I’ll be glad to communicate with anyone who has / had a similar experience and of course all advice is gratefully accepted. This site has been, still is a lifeline to me and I’m extremely thankful to all the generous people who have advised me here. Unfortunately, I'm

Can anyone give me any advice on if there are any drugs or supplements I would need to stop prior to this test. I am on liothyronine, diazepam, bisoprolol and various supplements. No biotin

Transitioning from 150mcg of Thyroxine to Metavive help please
Hi. I have been on 150 mcg of Thyroxine for 20 years. I am 54 and male. What prompted the switch: I recently started getting a lot of itching and hives on my arms particularly and other areas. I consulted a homeopath and found I was likely experiencing allergic reaction to Thyroxine. The treatment appears

Iodine/Ct Scan.
I’d be really grateful if anyone could answer a quick question. Thank you. My GP this morning has refused to issue my thyroid meds as I’m very overdue a thyroid blood test. However I’ve had a CT scan on a kidney this afternoon, and have just been told that any thyroid blood work will be inaccurate

Iodine test for Hashimotos
I am planning on having a urine iodine test. Would being on liothyronine only interfere with this test or contradict it in any way please?

Dietary iodine intake for Hashimoto's patients - yes or no?
I've read tons of available research re the above question, and I just want to sum it up to make sure I understand it correctly. Those who have increased antibodies like me, but whose thyroid hormone levels are normal so they don't take any meds for their thyroid, need 150 micrograms of iodine a day

? safe to wash iodine out straight away
I have had normal saline to wash eyes after injection and one nurse does it before adding tear drops and one adds tear drops first. When tear drops are done first I find I have very sore eyes for a couple of days, I can ask for saline first but wonder if it's safer to keep iodine there for a it to reduce

Tinnitus after RAI
I am just curious and throwing this out there! Did anyone else have onset of tinnitus after RAI treatment for their thyroid or after they started taking Levothyroxine? I swear I never had issues until after I had the above two done!

Situations with high FT3, but normal within-range FT4 and TSH
One of my colleagues has answered a question of mine regarding what iodine deficency can result in, in chronic deficient regions. This is yet another expression of thyroid function under stress.
I see a lot of patients suffering from arrhythmia due to high-T3 syndrome (e.g. resulting from iodine deficiency

T4 to T3 conversion
Hi everyone, I’m in a bit of a wrangle. I’m on T3 only. I’m a graves and have had RAI about 10 years ago. I was very unwell on thyroxine so eventually went on to T3. I have some issues with my heart. The endocrine has told GP she thinks I should be T4 only. I’ve said no. Please can someone advise
