Just joined the group... thank you! Hoping for some help, been on levothyroxine now for over 23 years, it was effective for a few years, but the weight, joint aches started and got worse. The usual for underactive thyroid. Anyway fast forward 20 plus years, the weight sticks better than Gorilla Glue

Low Blood Pressure.
i have very different problems concerning my A-Fib compared to most of you. So will go in to a bit of history of my latest health fiasco. I am 77 and have had low blood pressure a long as I can remember. I developed A-Fib about 7 years ago. Therefore I can’t take the Beta blockers because they

Amiodarone
I just wanted to clear up such negative responses to amiodarone. What is the mortality rate for amiodarone? In unadjusted analysis, amiodarone recipients had a slightly higher risk of death compared to non-recipients in the full cohort (87 vs 73 deaths per 1,000 person-years; P<0.001) but not in the

contrast dye
Hi, I have Sjogren’s and osteoporosis among other things. I’m due to have a CT scan on my lungs with contrast dye. I suffer with many allergies and wondered if anyone on here has had an adverse reaction to this iodine based dye? Many thanks 😊

Help with Substernal Thyroid
Hello to you all. I haven't been active for a while as my kidney problems took over. Last week I had a thyroid scan and apparently my thyroid on the left side has grown under my clavicle. According to the radiographer, the next step is up to me. I have looked on line and I seems to have a substernal

BTF RAI Study
This study sponsored by the BTF looks like it will ve very useful https://www.btf-thyroid.org/news/2023-btf-research-award-winner?fbclid=iwar3enrjb1xoxe5l10tf2ap64qbpav6pchgch4nlafezvsgfjgncrdp9mdu0 . A lot of thyroid research is fairly useless so it's good to see a study that will be useful whatever

Cruciferous veggies and thyroid - yay or neh?
Hi All, I have heard many times that you should avoid cruciferous veggies with thyroid problems. Yet, I am yet to actually see any solid evidence behind it. Raw cabbage, sure, probably not a good idea. Raw broc sprouts is probably not a good idea. A lot of cruciferous veggies, maybe not a good idea

Thoracic CT Scan - With contrast.
Not that remarkable having a CT Scan - But today I was not feeling the best before I wnt. It was a Thoracic CT with contrast. I have had many of these and know they can make you feel warm, and even an urge to urinate although it never happens. I was placed on the CT Scanner and was given Iodine as

Hi All. (Just FYI, diagnosed Graves & hyper Jan 21. RAI June 21. Diagnosed hypo Aug 21).It may seem silly to say that until I joined this group, I thought that accepting that "feeling better" is not the same as "feeling well", and I had wrongfully been accepting of the fact that since starting my thyroid

Thyroid and the Menstrual Cycle?
