Follow up on Referral Letter
As promised by my Doctor, I picked up my copy referral letter this morning. He had included my biochemistry. Now, something I didn't know, he had listened to me regarding only testing TSH levels (I took him a copy of Dr Tofts article in Pulse Magazine and also a copy of Diogenes "Time for a reassessment

Has anyone had a test for iodine levels?
Hi all, just wondering has anyone been tested for iodine levels? And if so what is the best test to go for? I have heard they can be unreliable. Thank you! 😊

Low total T3 but FT3 is normal. Help with results!
Hello All. I am as of yet undiagnosed but have been experiencing symtoms that coincide with hypothyroidism so doctor has run some tests. Results are in and the doctor immeditely wanted to put me on thyroid medication. I am not convinced, here are the results, I hope someone can help me interpret them

Blue Horizons Genetic Test Results.... Can anyone help explain what this means for me?
I’m just wondering if this suggests I should try T4/T3 combo - would these results be worth discussing with an Endo? Also I have Mirena Coil and Oestrogen patch....maybe ditch the patch? I know I don’t handle stress well and believe prolonged stress caused my Hashimotos... The TSHR - is odd as I am Hypothyroid

Post TT and neck resection
Hello! I'm home after surgery on the 31st. It went well. But I do have the normal symptoms, low calcium, very tired, hoarse voice, trouble swallowing. But I'm glad that it's over and I can start recovering at home. I was put on T4 meds, 'Tiche" 137mg, and I started them yesterday. They are gel capsules

My latest dilemma
I am at my wits end. I don’t remember the last time I didn’t feel tired. In March 2018 my blood results from my endocrinologist were as follows..I was on .125 synthroid TSH .48 (.45-4.5) Free T4 1.53 (.2-1.77) Free T3 2.7 (2.0-4.4) I asked if she would add T3 to boost it up into the higher range and

Pa and her weird assumptions
Had an appointment to today with the PA at the Endocrinology office. And although my labs actually look good, Ft3 could be higher, i am still fatigued and bit breathless. I had requested last time for her to run a cbc as well, thinking that perhaps my platelets had something to with my Graves disease

Thyroid ultra vit check results - I would be so grateful of any help or advice
I am really hoping that someone can help me and advise me as I am very unwell more than I am well-ish. I do understand that sufferers of Hashimotos will never feel as well as they used to, but my life is so dominated by symptoms that make leading a normal life impossible. I have had an all too common

Positive for likely pathogenic mutation in the ATM gene
Dr Rai did a FISH test in Sept. I just saw the results today. One of the pages says "Positive for likely pathogenic mutation in the ATM gene". ATM stands for "ataxia telangiectasia mutated". Has anyone heard of this or does anyone know what this means exactly?

Hi, i have hashimotos. Couldn’t get on with Levo. I am taking iodine, 1 grain of NDT & not much else. My levels arent bad but my T4 is 10 which is low. What can i do to improve it? I also had the cyst tested which it is benign .. but it has swollen in size again .. is that whats known as a goiter ?

TSH still really high and causing anxiety
In November I had RAI due to overactive thyroid. My Dr. started me on Synthroid 50 mcg in January. I am now on an alternating dose of 50 mcg 3x week and 75 mcg 4x week. Dr. says to stay on this dose as my TSH is decreasing (although VERY slowly). The only symptom I am really still experiencing is

Kelp to help asthma
Has anyone had benefit from taking Kelp to help their asthma? As my asthma had taken a downturn I have spent a fortune on supplements to help! Tried most things ! Then about 2 weeks ago I started on kelp capsules, taking three a day and not the recommended one a day! They seemed to make a big improvement

You can be still be alive with a TSH of 26.8 and T4 and T3 of 0
My poor body has been through the mill of things. My endo shut his clinic due to his own thyroid illness and left me stranded after having RAI. It was 8 weeks after my treatment and I decided I needed to see someone urgently so went back to my lovely GP. As you can see my bloods they were very underactive

Random question
This is not urgent, but I was watching the new hbo show about Chernobyl and did some reading about how people who were exposed were given iodine tablets. Also read about a huge increase in thyroid cancer after the explosion happened. First, what would happen to someone if they didn’t have a thyroid and
