Had an appointment to today with the PA at the Endocrinology office. And although my labs actually look good, Ft3 could be higher, i am still fatigued and bit breathless.
I had requested last time for her to run a cbc as well, thinking that perhaps my platelets had something to with my Graves disease (for those who dont follow me, I have Graves disease post 131, but the RAI didnt work and endo up going hypo due to itself burning out and stress and am now on Armour 90mg). Long story short we logged my platelet levels and thyroid levels on the Excel computer program and found they did not line up, instead the platelets line up with my lymphocyte count.
Anyway she thinks that since this one platelet count was up in range that the platelets are finally figuring themselves out as I am no longer taking methimazole (anti- Thyroid Medicine). Fyi I stopped take this in 2014 and have been watching my platelets consistently being low since 2017🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️.
So her conclusion is that there’s no cause for concern as they are not terribly low, and they must be better after this one cbc. Also that it’s not her area of expertise.
Will be seeing a new primary tomorrow and requesting a hematology referral and see what they say. Hopefully they will take me seriously as I disagree that this is normal and that a normal person would have a continuous low platelet count and High MPV.
