Just off to get my broomstick...

Am starting out on this new challenge later today. Have just completed week 5 of the c25k programme:

Now need to build up some core muscles and improve my flexibility, so this S&F lark sounds just right.

PULL-UPS.

Haven't got any railings of the right height so, after a few experiments, came up with this solution... a wooden broom handle lying across two chairs, with me lying on the floor underneath and lifting myself up while keeping heels on ground. If I find it too hard to start with, I'll bend my knees and lift myself from the hips up only.

Good improvisation con-brio. You may find it a bit of a challenge but you could simply do less reps than Laura asks you to do in the podcast and build up gradually. Good luck!

Can only manage the pull-ups with my knees bent, feet and bum on the floor, though. Definitely feel those muscles work. Reps as Laura requires.

Have tried the pull-ups using a railing since... hardly notice the strain, so I prefer my broomstick.

If you found them easy, that means you've got a strong upper back and you're right to be making it a bit more challenging for yourself.
