Belated post to brag about the medal I received last week. This was for my British Rowing January daily challenge, Row31.
British Rowing seem to organise these virtual and live sessions daily, every year In January (I think since Covid) and I loved it! It was made up of 3 rows per week, one of which was live (Tuesday mornings at 7 am 😳😳), and another 3 mat-based workouts designed to provide strength & flexibility specifically for rowers.
I loved having a different coach to row along to, specifically a woman coach, and I improved my personal best 5k!
But as I tend to row at least 5 times per week, I also used the opportunity to explore Zwift’s newest virtual world, an imaginary Scotland!
(As I have mentioned before, I have hooked up my Indoor Rowing machine to my IPad and Zwift, and thus row a running avatar on Zwift)
So experiencing that new world, I encountered Scottish Highlands, landmark Glaswegian buildings, Edinburgh castles, various moors and lochs with an appearance of Nessie, fairy lights and Northern lights.
I’m off to do the 30min x 30-day series again by RowAlong, which will be the fourth time. And yes, it’s that good!
For those who row, happy rowing!
