S&F catch-up: What’s in your workout calendar ?

This morning I was updating my diary, which keeps my health journeys structured, at least in letters and words, in some sort of way. But being ill in the last weeks of Sept, and recovery stretching way into October,- … all that kept me busy getting back to my former self, but my diary pages stayed empty.

So this lovely Sat morning, free of running as I ran yesterday,  I started writing and planning again.

And that’s where I finally put in words what I had felt I was missing in this season. I needed some one-off, race-like challenges or some more S&F plans to look forward to.

Maybe a Pumpkin Plodder Run 🎃🏅🎃🏅🎃🏅, or finish running 31k in the Halloween week? 👻🎃👻🎃

So I’m still looking for some good seasonal challenges or plans, and am wondering if any of you have found some good ones for improving Strength and Flexibility?

Oh .... interesting Over just worked out of f I run 19.169k by 31st then I'll have run 31 miles in October... It's tempting

My daily Pilates finishes on Tuesday so I'm looking at what's next. I think I need to concentrate on strengthening legs so I'm thinking of working towards a squat total during November. I'm not sure what the total will be though.

Squats… yes, good one. I do get quite a bit of leg-workout through rowing, so I’ve put various squats to rest at the moment, replaced by upper body workouts.

31 miles in October sounds a brilliant idea! I’d be very tempted, too.

I can see that all that rowing must help with leg strength.

I'm away for 5 nights this next week so I'll see how my runs go . I was hoping to get my long run done tomorrow before setting off but the forcast is not looking good ⛈️🌧️🌩️

I've treated myself to a big foam roller and am determined that I am going to incorporate some foam rolling into my yoga and strength sessions. So I tend to do Parkrun , then a long run on Sunday, yoga Monday, steady run with the running club Tuesday, strength and strength training Wed, Thursday interval/speed run and Friday maybe a bit of Zumba or step. I do mix it up a bit, depending on what mood Im in.

So Im told that foam rolling helps to keep muscles relaxed so hopefully that will help recovery between runs and give me more time for strength training and stretch training.
