Anyone else fancy jumping on board the Yoga with Adriene train? ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Come and join us! Adriene is a wonderful yoga instructor and her YouTube classes are accessible to all, whether youโ€™re a rank beginner like I was when I first started practising with her nearly 3 years ago, or whether youโ€™re already a seasoned yogi. She has something for everyone, and pretty much every part of the body - including several practices aimed at runners.

She has a tradition of releasing a new โ€œ30 Days of Yogaโ€ in the New Year, and hereโ€™s the link to the latest one if anyoneโ€™s interested.

Itโ€™s fun, and you really get to see results in your strength and flexibility. The things I can do/reach that I couldnโ€™t before are incredible! ๐Ÿ˜… Have a go, itโ€™s a great cross training habit to get into! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Itโ€™ll be fun, and the more the merrier. My daughter introduced me to Adriene 3 years ago and I havenโ€™t looked back. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ

I have been doing the YWA 30 day challenge for the last 2 years & her Sunday practice on and off in between, but havenโ€™t kept up with her. Iโ€™ve been doing other yoga as well. Happy to jump on board for the Jan 30 day challenge ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

I did the one at the beginning of this year - 'Home'. It feels like a lot longer ago though!

Doing some yoga every day was a different kind of challenge. I was happy to drop it when it finished, but I did enjoy it!

The best thing about doing it every day is that your flexibility sneaks up on you, plus she mixes the practices up. ๐Ÿ˜€

I'm in though it's a long time since I did much yoga. I suspect it might take me most of the year to get through the 30 days but there's no harm trying.

Oh fabulous! I was thinking of doing the Home 30 days but realised at some point there would be a new one coming out.

So I am in. I might have to take longer than a month as I need to do some other focussed workouts (knees, arms, etc) in between.

I know you are a great advocate of Adrienne cheeky and Iโ€™ve just seen that sheโ€™s being promoted as one of the most important women in 2020 in this months Good Housekeeping magazine. I might give her a try in January as i wonโ€™t be doing my Pilates classes. Watch this space.

It would be great if you gave her a go. Some days are super gentle, some are hard work, but they all make you feel good afterwards. Go for it! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Thank you. I love her yoga classes. I have really tight hips, which are not helped by arthritis inherited through my mum. I used to do ballet and gymnastics when I was young and then taught fitness classes for over 15 years, but I lost all the flexibility and since I started running, only back in May, I'm working hard to get it back. Thank you for these links as they will be so useful.๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜

Hmm, you guys are all so heartily enthusiastic about it I might be tempted to give it a go. I have never tried any yoga but, having read so much about Adriene on B210, I took a peek at one of her YouTube videos the other day and was put off immediately.... as she was comfortably sitting cross legged on the floor, which is something I've not been able to do for several years!! Is there any hope for me??๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Yes there is Jiveblue! Itโ€™s perfectly fine to sit up on a pillow, blanket or block to lift your hips, and it makes sitting cross legged way more comfortable until your body gradually gets used to it.

Give Adriene a go. She gives lots of alternative poses and youโ€™re sure to see improvement in your flexibility over time. ๐Ÿ˜€

I've followed her for some time but this year all workouts were off due to me having 3 slipped cervical discs in January that require surgery that I'm reluctant to have, but in the New Year I intend to lose weight and adapt a workout regime that suits me so will look at Yoga as my first port of call
