Are we still shaking it up?

Please can someone help. Ever since I started Shake it up I have gone off the boil. Work (my other life, catering) got manic and my energy took a nose dive. I am having trouble getting back to it. Let’s all share how we are doing so

1) we can motivate each other

2) if your doing as well as me 😂😂😂😂. We can help each other get back on track.

Hi realfoodieclub!

I've been on holiday for the past 10 days or so, and although it was a very active holiday (swimming, hiking, kayaking, SUPing!) I can say that I did not stick to any one of my challenges ...

It did make me realise how much better I feel (and sleep) being so active so the motivation is really there - but I think i'm going to need to incorporate some more outdoorsy things. Or else plan some more trips and then aim to be able to do more while on them by working out in the inbetween bits.

Thanks for carrying on with this!

Sounds like a wonderful break. I used to only exercise indoors, running gave me a fast short exercise session outdoors and I love that part of it. I think we will keep going with this after the six weeks is up as some of us (well me 😀). Need a bit more time to get into a routine.

I can do 20 push ups... and there’s less sweating... 50 seems a long way off still, and sometimes I think I set the bar too high, but you know what? That’s just perfect, if I don’t get there I will keep going, if I do get there it will be a huge achievement, either way I win.

You are doing great, well done. We will be keeping going so don’t let that put you off, we will stay with you until you get there. I’m going to need extra time to get to my end of challenge. 😀

I knew you’d say that 🤪

If I achieve I’ll either have to come up with a new one or raise the bar on this. Why didn’t I set myself a challenge of drinking a gallon of ale in 2 hours or something? 😂

Swam today! Having made the promise to swim twice a week has helped me so far. It's a shame I can't keep to my promises regarding work and housework in the same way!!

Best promise to keep is the one that makes you live longer. Great job.

Hi realfoodieclub :)

I have progressed from plank against the wall to kneeling plank. I drew up a schedule and although I have missed a few, most days have been ticked off. Plan to carry on trying to build up my strength and time over the coming weeks - still finding it quite challenging :)

That is great news, well done. I think I am going to have a go at the wall planks as I find the assisted kneeling ones very challenging.

Like you I have struggled to achieve my challenge - which was very simple (daily wall push ups). But I have managed to incorporate some push ups into my stretch routine after a run. So at least I am doing them 3x a week 😊. I definitely prefer exercising outdoors so perhaps I should try doing the press ups in the garden! 😉. Thanks everyone for motivating me.

Like you say three times a week is good. I was at my catering do last night and everyone coming in was in a bit of a cloud, usually they are all chipper. I think we are all feeling a bit of the blues after the summer. Maybe it’s like when you get back of holiday after you have had loads of sunshine. 🌝🌝🌝.
