My name is Realfoodieclub and I am the admin of the C25K and Bridgeto10km forums. I, like you am going through the Stregnth and Flex program at the moment.

I have also been asked by Healthunlocked along with my colleagues Poppypug and Ju-Ju to come and work on the forum. We are hoping to bring some of our members from the other forums on here and get a lovely inclusive vibe going where we can all chat about how it is going for us.

I'm looking forward to going through this journey with you all and getting some great advice from those of you that have completed the program

Wishing you all a happy healthy week

RFCx.

Hello RFC. Thanks for pointing the C25k and B210k forum members towards this forum.

I think it is going to be a bonus to add this programme into my running activities, it will definitely compliment!

I look forward to learning from and sharing other forum member's experiences of the strength and flex programme 👍🏼😃

Hello to everyone. I'm Jacklyn, I have just joined, have a lower back problem that gives me sciatica, so do find it tricky todo exercises without it flaring up, but I am willing to try help me get better, I also have fibromyalgia, and do hurt before I attempt any task, but again I am willing myself to fight this has I want and need to strengthen my core muscles, my whole body and because I have been bed bound for most of my days I have gained weight, I am told my medication has played a part in this, I do eat healthily and I would like any help advice on the best way to start a healthy keep fit to get stronger regimen. I have turned a huge corner coming out of my shell, and want to make a difference to me so I can become a happier healthy person. Kind regards Jacklyn.

Hi there and welcome to our little forum. I have had periods of no exercise In my life and have found the best way to start is with very gentle walks. Try for small amounts first and see how your body responds. Walking is great because it allows you to set your own pace and distance and doesn't need any equipment. The NHS strength and flex podcasts are great but I would work up to them. There is never a time limit to getting fit it's a journey that takes as long as you need it to. If your in any doubt about anything talk it over with your GP but keep coming back and tell us how your getting on.

Hi everyone, I am new too. Thought I was quite fit despite being a bit overweight as I walk my dog for 2 hours a day. How wrong was I lol

Having nearly put myself out of the game starting kettle bells again, I have seen sense and am going to work up, my cardio fitness is rubbish despite being a fast walker

Also have plantar fascitis which is making life difficult so if anyone has any tips?x

Hi there and welcome. It's so,easy to start off to heavy but luckily it only takes a couple of days to get over then. You can take the intensity down a bit. I know some of the runners onC25k have a few exercises for PF so hopefully someone might come along with some advice. Fast walking is a great way to build up to cardio, we have a walking for health forum as well now. I myself love speed walking and think it gives a great workout. Keep posting and let us know how your doing.
