Hi, I use the silver lined gloves and socks as well as my other gloves and socks. Haven't really noticed a difference with them :(

Try the finger-less gloves. Sounds counter-intuitive but they have helped me. During in an attack especially, the full gloves are useless and you do need to take them off otherwise your hands will never recover. They'll keep warm things warm and cool things cool, so you have to wear them all the time.

Hi

I have used sliver lined socks - I find them of some use

I wear these next to my skin with normal socks over them

as they are hardly fashionable

Another and cheaper option, is to buy "silver backed" shoe inserts

(an even cheaper method, is to make your own from radiator backing DIY insulation material, available from DIY stores)

Being cheap you can replace these regularly, this is also good for the health of your feet

Keep a paper template, to make it easy to cut out future ones

I find these useful to insulate the soles of my feet, when walking on cold surfaces

like concrete, pavements or snow (topical at the moment), and as they do not enclose the entire foot, there is more "breathable" foot area, which in my case lessens sweating (another foot problem I have)

You may want to wear a slightly larger size of shoe/boot to accommodate the thickness of these, but that's also true if you wear thick socks

I suggest that the "sliver" side is placed next to the shoe, not the foot

to avoid getting too hot

no don,t like them too fancy to be comfy and not really warm .Socks normal socks with sheekskin boots and sheep skin booties slipers .My feet are only cold if maybe stopped moving around .2pairs of normal socks one short one knee lenth .Have raynaunds in feet but my feet are easy to keep warm .They would not be warm in fancy shoes or socks or if i dressed posh I would be freezing dressed posh .Long johns keeping legs warm will keep the body warm .

I love the idea for the thermal lining... brilliant. I actually have insoles made for me on the NHS. I recently bought Croc boots - now these are fantastic, thick socks, innersoles and also room to still wiggle toes. These boots are also lined (extra warmth) and great grip (the tread).

I use silk liners inside my gloves & find that they do help.

I'm a big believer in natural fibres such has pure wool (cashmere, merino etc), silk, sheepskin and down, and find them to be much warmer than manmade fibres.

Hi I have suffered from raynauds for many years and tried every type of glove that there is. In the end only one thing woks for me.

1 buy a pair of very high quality mitts the sort that are stocked in outdoor or climbing shops not simple woollen ones. Mine are by berghaus and I think they cost over £30 a few years ago.

2 get a product called hot hands 2 take the bags put of the pouches shake them and put them in the mitts. End of problem.

3 gloves don't work because your fingers remain exposed to the air whilst your palms remain warm and even without the bags each finger helps to warm the one next to it. You can wear think silk gloves inside the mitts but I found it was not necessary.

Hop that helps

I keep a ton of gloves by the door and load in my pocket .Magic gloves are easy as can move hands with out taking them off even with 2 pairs on .Find getting arms and hands body moving is the only way to keep warm brisk walking

I took have outdoor type hiking gloves. They are gloves built within the mitten - all together so no separating them and bought them in Blacks in the sale at £20.

Hi - yes tried silk glove liners - helpful in the sense it adds an extra layer & as mentioned above it's natural fibres - so def worth a try ... most outdoors shops sell them ...

Best of luck

I bought a pair, they were useless, they also shrank. I just buy a stock load from H&M when they are a £1.00 for 2 pairs and double them up. They are lot warmer too I found. Also buy yourself a pair of mittens to wear over a pair of gloves. Your hands stay toasty until you need to use them then.

I like the fingerless silver gloves from the RSA under woolly mittens, into which I can put handwarmers (no good for driving though). The trouble with gloves when shopping is the need to keep taking them on and off, so having the fingerless ones underneath helps. Haven't tried the silk ones, please let us know how you get on.

The RSA sell mittens with pouches inside for the hand warmers, Why not try some sticky velcro circles/pads? That way the hand warmer won't fall out/move around too much.

I've found double walking socks (wool outer, cotton inner) are good; M+S did some wool mix thermal socks a year or so ago which were warm but short in the leg; I now buy the gentle grip socks from TKMaxx - I believe Edinburgh Woollen Mill also stock them, but they cost more there - the fact that they are not tight round the bottom of my leg seems to have helped a lot. Also sheepskin slippers, warmest when worn on their own (ie without socks); sheepskin insoles from the shoe menders/dry cleaners, both great. My fingers are suffering in this cold weather - have some fingerless wool gloves/mittens which help.

I use a wheelchair because I have CP and my legs don't move much, so I find it extremely difficult to keep my legs, knees and especially my feet warm.. But I find wearing woollen felt knee protectors and fine Marino woollen long johns can help..

On my hands I wear thin thermal gloves under a pair of lambskin gloves then my wheelchair mitts almost all year,, But I also wear possum skin mitts over my gloves when it's winter and colder weather.. On my feet I find 2 pair of think Marino woolly socks plus a pair of possum skin booties then a good knee high pair of heavy sheepskin boots keep my feet warm best, But any clothing needs to be extremely dry or it looses its warmth very fast, so I pre warm my gloves, mitts. socks, possum skins and sheepskin boots before I put them on... On super frosty cold days before I go outdoors, I pull on a dawn filled sleeping bag all the way up to my armpits and it keeps me that much warmer...:)

I'm a great believer in possum skin as the fur traps the warm air inside the fine strands of fur and it's a natural product so keeps warmer longer.. The same with Marino wool as the fine strands of wool keeps warmer longer as well..

I always wear a woolly hat even indoors and have another to wear to bed at night, But I have a possum skin hood I wear over my woolly hat when I go outdoors as keeping your head warm helps to keep your whole body warm..
