Does anybody know anything about marine collagen/hyalauronic acid supplement?
I’ve been taking this for years (Promotes good skin/hair). When I was diagnosed with limited systemic scleroderma, I asked my rheumatologist if I should stop taking the collagen, and he said it makes no difference.if it makes me feel good, then keep taking.
Can someone explain this to me? Is this accurate? If scleroderma is a buildup or collagen, then how can taking marine collagen be safe? I would like to keep taking but am worried.
Thank you!!
Xoxo

Hi there, as your Consultant said...it makes no difference. If you feel it has had beneficial effects over the years carry on, if you don't really think it makes a dramatic difference whether you take it or not stop. It is not going to have any effect on the condition itself. The collagen is effected at the cellular level in scleroderma...dietary collagen is completely different and has no impact on the condition.
Here is a link (hopefully) to a good leaflet on Scleroderma I found
