Hi has any one been on the methotrexate injections because my Rheumatologist says my Scleroderma symptoms have come on quite quickly she wants me to try this for six months I start on the 19 September after I have seen the specialist nurses to show me how to inject I was interested to see what affects it has on people I have read horror stories so thought I would ask here many thanks

I have been using it at .04 once a week for year. I think it has helped. I don’t seem to get dude effects but am really careful about watching my immune system. I still have to take my other meds but my doc says my fingers look better and my pulmonary hypertension actually has been better this year so I can take less Sildinefil. I don’t live injecting a chemo drug but I do think the benefits outweigh the risks. I live in Washington state and at 46 my doc says I have the worst Raynauds he has ever seen and I finally feel like it is stable. Not any better but much more manageable. I would say try it and really give it time cabs see what it does .

Hello. I have Primary Sjogren's Syndrome with very bad articular pain and swelling for 8 months and prednisolone and hydroxy chloroquine was like water. I'm using MTX since August 16th... I only loose my appetite the two days after (I take MTX every Friday) but that's it for me... The tolerance is different each person. It takes about 3 to 12 weeks to see the effects and by now, the my wrists are really better, the pain is practically gone, have some residual swelling... So based on my personal experience, GO FOR IT. Only if you try, you can know if it works for you!

Best luck.

I’ve been on 17.5mg methotrexate for 18 months or more for morphoea. The only side effect I have experienced is thinning hair. It’s so fine and has no body to it but hair is meant to go back to normal once you stop treatment. Good luck
