i, I'm new here, came upon this site while searching for answers for my wierd finger pain and bruising. At the end of the day at work yesterday (nothing energetic, just retail) I was washing my cup and suddenly felt a strong stinging pain under the nail on my 3rd finger. Looked down and there was a black bruise, just on the palm side, from the furthest joint, nearly to the top. I looked at my finger with an eyeglass, thinking there might be a mark where I might have been stung, but nothing. It was still bruised this morning but, tonight, after a busy diy and gardening day, it's back to normal! I do get Raynauds in cold weather and I have asthma plus, thinking about it, I have had the equivalent toe go almost black for a while sometimes. I feel reassured from reading all your posts as it looks like the often-mentioned Achenbach syndrome. I had thought I might have a blood-clot or something, and was thinking I might have to see my doctor, but now I will just mention it a "a thing" when I next see him. Thank you all for putting my mind to rest!

Hello howdah: achenbach could cover this, but you’re right to ask your medics cause there can be other causes. Sounds like you’ve probably seen this discussion here on the subject already, but in case not, here is the link:

Hope you’ll let us know what your medic says about this. There is some interest in this here and we do discuss these manifestations here regularly...i’ve been doing so for the past 8 years. The other HU communities these tend to interest are the Ehlers-Danlos Support UK & Lupus UK forums

I have had mysterious bruising on my fingers but they went as suddenly as they came, I got the stinging pain too beforehand. Recently I've found a very bruised looking toe but know I haven't banged it or anything, I will read upon achenbachs and will mention it next time I see GP
