Finger pain
Hi there Gillw1978
I have the exact same. I have secondary Raynauds for 11-13 years progressively worsening with excruciating index finger pain, shooting electric shock type pains and finger, if it’s knocked is ridiculously painful. I would definitely advise seeing your doctor about this worsening Raynauds you’re experiencing.
Thank you for your reply do you take any medication for your raynauds
Hi,
You need to get to the doctors quickly. It sounds exactly like my right index finger started four years ago. It was dismissed by doctors and I ended up with an isquemic finger and had a third of it amputated. You need either sildenafil (ideally) or illoprost. Ideally get to your consultant, as your gp will probably not have a clue and will not be able to prescribe the right treatment anyway.
Good luck.
Thank you for your reply I don’t have a consultant just a doc who’s pretty useless
guess you still got an old fashioned doctor, find another! Raynauds is the spasming (vasoconstriction) of the arteries, viagra is a cheap alternative. Ask to see a specialist. Discuss the need for a universal Calcium Chanel Blocker (helps to stop the vascular constriction) and a nitrate to keep things open
Thank you think I’m gonna have to look for another doctor as if I want an appointment might be able to get one in April if I’m lucky lol
So sorry that you’re in so much pain, Gill! Please look after yourself - don’t let the doctors underestimate your suffering- this needs immediate attention- especially so if your finger becomes blue/purple. Is there anything in particular that made the Reynauds increasingly worse over the years for you? Do you suffer from sn underlying autoimmune condiction as well?
