Diets/bone broth
Hi. My son follows AIP diet for Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. He has had great results from it. Has managed to stop all medication (previously on methotrexate, hydroychloroquine, nifedipine, omeprazole, ranitidine).
He is 15 years old and we started to change his diet when he was 12. I would definitely recommend it.
Hi. I have also had good results from following the AIP diet and gradually reintroducing most foods apart from gluten and dairy. My consultant was very enthusiastic about the diet and impressed with progress I have made - I also saw a nutritionist and took a lot of supplements; had the silver fillings removed from my mouth and generally calmed my whole system down.
I’ve read that since Scleroderma causes excessive collagen production, bone broth may be inadvisable. Otherwise, the AIP is probably good, as are antioxidants like turmeric (most likely). I follow another anti-inflammatory diet called the IBD-AID for IBD and it’s supposed to be good for autoimmune disorders generally.
