Chest pain with numbness in arms
I have the same symptoms, the Dr says take pain killers and things will settle down !
Says who? GP or Rheumy or Professor so and so?
It's a little like, "have some dummy, here" to a starving baby. Ignorance amongst medical profession is flabbergasting. But it seems this goes around ALOT.
I get this a lot from my rheumy I’ve been telling him for ages about the numbness but it was just ignored
I have crest form systemic sclerosis scleroderma. It caused HEART FAILURE in 2012, 4 years after diagnosis. I have been in hospital ICU 3 times and more with pericarditis ,( fluid buildup around heart,). I have to take Potassium Chloride every day for the rest of my life. I also have nitroglycerin for angina( chest pain) can only use twice, if no relief go to hospital ER. However, when you are having any chest pain, or pain in either limbs, tightness, can even be in your jaw, shortness of breath you need to go to ER. If that hospital or GP Doc says it's nothing, go to different hospital.
When you develope heart issues with our disease, which I have a permanent diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure. You will find you have such fatigue, shortness of breath, 0 tolerance to stress ( if that's possible, it's the disease that keeps on giving). I tire trying to change the bed, everything seems so hard. And I'm so damn tired of people saying " but you don't look sick".
Thank u
Someone else commented on another hub, "seronegative" does not mean you are fit to go or you are well. I never had the raised inflammatory markers even during the flare when there are clinical signs. However, this sometimes gives Rheumy, who is not thinking, clearly and quite frankly, too lazy (?) dealing with his rheumy conveyor belt, thinking about his lunch or dinner..takeaway or something else.. Sexism in rheumatology has also been discussed.
There has been active discussion on the book: Do No Harm’ author Maya Dusenbery. This topic comes up quite often.
My markers are also negative, however it is all visable, consistent and progressive. So my diagnosis by my Regular Doc is the same. Congestive heart failure, crest syndrome, sjogrens, chronic pain syndrome, Raynaud's, fibromyalgia. And hypogammaglobulinemia ( low immune system, can get pneumonia 10 times a year) I go for monthly infusions IV for gammunex. I also have almost non existent veins as the scleroderma scarring has made them like concrete blocks.
