Why does my hands and feet get so hot at night when I go to bed and i can't sleep.

You may have erythromelalgia, and it tends to flare at night. You might also have a B12 deficiency, it can cause neurological symptoms like tingling or burning feet and hands, as well as fatigue, sciatic pain, enlarged tongue, insomnia, hair loss, disappearance of fingernail moons, and more.

When you have your B12 tested then you should know the low cutoff most doctors use is too low (typically 200 pg/mL, sometimes even lower). Neurological damage can occur below 450 pg/mL.

Yes, sounds like simultaneous raynauds & erythromelalgia. Ask your consultant about this

I'm 62 and my primaries are SLE & ehlers danlos type hypermobility. I've been managing RP & EM simultaneously for many years. I think my daily prescription lupus meds damp symptoms slightly, but mainly this is about lifestyle management:

Avoid caffeine & alcohol

Try to eat an antiinflammation diet

Stick your hands & feet out of the bed clothes

Change hand & footwear regularly

Etc

I have the same problem, my feet will get so hot that they start burning. One solution I've found to be helpful is I use an ice pack on my feet before going to bed, that helps a lot. This is something I go through during hot weather, I have to avoid the sun, can't wear sandals otherwise my feet will start burning. Another thing you can do is soak your feet in cold water before going to bed. Hope this helps.

Hi maria have you tried a gel pad, or some times i stand in the bath because when it goes cold at night the bottom of the bath is quite cool.sleeping i find the most difficult only manage about 3hours.hope one of the tips helps you.
