Back pain

Has anyone ever had a Thoracic Spine X-Ray done just wondering because I had to have one done Wednesday at the hospital and they said it would take 2 weeks for the results to come back to my gp. Is that the normal time to wait for the results, I've had a bad back for 3 years but recently the pain has been getting worse. So went the doctors yesterday and they gave me an xray form but before I could have the xray done the nurses had to ask there consultant if it was ok for me to have it as they said I'm young thanks for any information.

Only after I fell downstairs earlier this year, the xrays were viewed in a&e & I was hospitalised for a week cos I fractured my thoracic spine!

I hope you get some answers soon, back pain is awful.xx

Yes that is the time it takes, unless their computer system works faster.

Hi, I had a isotope bone scan...they were great on the day and told me results would be back in 2 weeks. It has been over 5 weeks now...I have rang and was told would hear last week..but still nothing. It is really hard waiting coz you look things up on the internet to try and diagnose yourself. I hope your results come back quick for you...good luck xxx

Hi Lisa_Lovatt, sorry to hear about your back pain.:-( As stated by everyone else, having back pain can be horrible. I've been living with mine since 2010! Like you, I've been told that I'm too young for this/that - didn't know that ill health has age specification! :¬(

Do trust that you will get the results within the specified time. Naturally, you will be engage in doing whatever is required to ease the pain but bit told my the mature folks - not to lean in the direction of the pain - easier said than done. Why? helps to maintain proper posture.

Thank you everyone for all your replies i agree with all of you back pain is horrible to put up with ive had it for 3 years and its not getting any better been taking 500mg of co codamol for nearly 2 weeks but they don't seem to be helping with the pain. Should get my results back in a few days a hope anyway and i agree its horrible having to wait for the results because you sometimes wonder if there good or bad i hope you all manage to get your back pains sorted out thanks for all your answers x
